Archery Hunt City of Wadena
The City of Wadena, Minnesota does ordain as follows: Said City Code Section 130 regulating
Public Protection, Crimes, and Offenses shall be hereby amended, so as to read as follows: City
Code Section 130.04 H Archery Hunting.
A. Archery hunting during Minnesota designated hunting seasons, and archery target
practice in the City Limits of Wadena is permissible as follows:
1. In public and private owned areas of the City Limits approved by the City Council,
which may be amended from time to time.
2. On approved private parcels, with the permission of the property owner.
3. On undeveloped and approved publicly owned land, unless otherwise posted.
4. With a permit issued by the City of Wadena Police Department or designate.
B. City of Wadena undeveloped lands are open for archery hunting with a permit issued by
the City of Wadena. Refer to Exhibit A, Archery Hunting Map for approved parcels. The
number of permitted archery hunters to be allowed to hunt on a designated parcel shall be
limited, based on size and topographical features of the parcel, and set by the City
Council.
C. Elevated Stands may be used for archery hunting subject to the following requirements:
1. The use of portable tree stands is recommended, especially those which can be
secured without driving nails into the tree. Nails are a safety hazard for woodcutters
and may harm the tree.
2. Personal property must be removed from City of Wadena lands within 14 days of the
end of the designated hunting season.
3. It is illegal to destroy City of Wadena property, including cutting of trees for shooting
lanes.
4. Litter and building of permanent buildings or hunting stands are prohibited.
5. Any existing permanent unoccupied stand or blind on public land is public and not
the property of the person who constructed the stand or blind.

D. Personal property may not be left or positioned so as to obstruct use of a road or trail.
Personal property left unattended for 14 days shall be deemed abandoned and become the
property of the City of Wadena.
