Human resource management is the process of acquiring, training, appraising, and compensating
employees, and of attending to their labor relations, health and safety, and fairness concerns. It
focuses on using a holistic management strategy to manage the employees of a company who
help the company achieve its goals.
To put Rosete Paints Bangladesh Limited back on track, Lamia Chowdhury took some human
resource management related actions. Those are discussed below:

i. Recruitment and Selection:

Lamia hires a few fresh workers. She conducted interviews and picked the candidates
who were most suited for the job. She had to reorganize the team in accordance with the
demands as it was discovered that the company's prior senior management, including the
board of directors and key executives, had left the organization.

ii. Training and Development:

Lamia Chowdhury trained and developed their individuals in accordance with industry
standards.

iii. Performance Management:

She tried to establish a standard of performance for all the workers so that everyone
would have the opportunity to contribute to the firm and receive performance reviews in
accordance with their efforts.

iv. Compensation and Benefits:

For pay and benefits prior to Lamia, this was done in a separate manner by the
employees of this organization. However, Lamia makes changes to employee salaries,
annual bonuses, vacation policies for each employee, retirement programs, and most
significantly profit-sharing arrangements like stock plans.
Ans. to the Q: N: 2

Based on the case, she, in my opinion, made the right decisions for her organizations. Because
the board of directors and key executives had already departed when she arrived. Following that,
she started working at Roseate Paints Bangladesh Limited as Executive Director (ED) of Human
Resources. Based on the current situation, she had to adjust the structure, which she executed.
Lamia also resolves various immoral tasks that occurred during the compensation plan.

I can now advise Lamia to take few actions for moving forward. She should:

i. Lead Board of Directors:

Lamia should perform this challenging task of managing a team of leaders. Leaders
frequently have strong beliefs; thus, board members may disagree on how to carry out
their responsibilities. Lamia must engage in conflict management when necessary and
listen to all sides.

ii. Serve as a Mentor:

Lamia should make time to connect with mentees to develop an individualized
relationship that goes beyond work-related communication. She should coach to their
mentees’ strengths and interests. Mentoring staff, board members, and volunteers will
provide her with a glimpse into the future of the organization.

iii. Develop Human Resource Plan:

Lamia should forecast, develop and control by which the organization will ensure that it
has the right number of people and the right kind of people at the right place at the right
time doing work for which they will economically be most useful.

iv. Build and Reinforce the Company’s Values and Culture:

Happy workers are only one of the many advantages that having a strong and well-
defined business culture brings to both employers and employees. People are more likely
to feel at ease and happier at work if they strongly identify with their company's culture.
So, Lamia should focus on building and reinforcing the company’s values and culture.
