Autobiography

I am an African American female who is 26 years old and has one child named Da’Maya.

I’m the only girl I have two big brothers and my mom who helps me through hard times in my

life and with my child. I will be the first out of my siblings who is going to graduate college with

my associates in Early Childhood Education. Becoming a mom was a big responsibility for me

and know my own actions in life and having to decide for my child’s benefit and my own benefit

in life.

The reason I choose my career in education was the experience that I have had through

my life. I’ve always loves kids; my first job was babysitting my neighbor 3-year-old child when I

was 15. Even when I was little, I used to play school with my baby dolls and act out as a teacher.

So, my experience with children is very outstanding and when I became a mom it became easy.

So once I started my education in early childhood education I was learning more about the child

development.

I am fully committed to the field that I want to take part of which is on education and be

able to impact children and their families. I would like to be able and help the children meet their

needs in a classroom that is challenging to them and make it work for the children. I would like

the children to be comfortable in the classroom and be able to ask for help when needed without

being afraid. By me choosing the career that I chose was the best I could ever choose in my life

because I am able to impact children in their early education years and have the opportunity to

teach the children and families about a learning environment.
