Music of Philippine Festivals and Theatrical Forms
I. Learning Competency
a. Improvises music accompaniment in relation to a particular Philippine festival.
II. Introductory Concept

This activity will help you understand and appreciate Philippine Festivals along with the musical
instruments to strengthen your cultural identity as Filipino. You will be performing your own choice of
musical instrument as an accompaniment to a selected Philippine Festival music, and you will enjoy this
musical experience with pride and honor.
After going through this module, you are expected to improvise music accompaniment in
relation to a particular Philippine festival

III. Activities

Activity 1
Directions:
1. Create your own musical instrument using object that can be found around like cans, bottle,
wood/bamboo sticks, etc.
2. Make sure to make you musical instruments sturdy enough to be played in your performance
3. Also paint and decorate your improvised musical instrument.
4. Note: you will not submit your improvised musical instrument to your subject teacher, instead, you
will use that in your performance on the next activity.

your improvised musical instrument you made from the Activity 1 playing along with your chosen
festival music.
4. Send your video performance to your subject teacher.
