4. CERTIFICATION
4.1 The supplier of the product shall certify with each shipment that the
material meets all provisions of this specification. The certification
shall include Global Steering Systems, LLC. purchase order number,
material specification number (must include "T" specification and if
applicable, "M" specification) and its revision number. An authorized
representative of the supplier must sign the certification, with title,
unless the GSS, LLC. Materials department approves electronic
submission. Any statements of belief rather than fact, such as "to the
best of my knowledge or belief," are unacceptable.
4.2 The original source name and lot number must be included with each
shipment.
4.3 The supplier without first informing the Materials Department of the
Global Steering Systems, LLC. and obtaining its written consent shall
make no changes in this material.
4.4 Each batch must be tested by approved methods to the original (unaged)
requirements for tensile strength, elongation, hardness and modulus as
shown in the material specification, prior to release to production.
All other slab stock requirements including aging tests must be
performed prior to initial sample approval, and a minimum of once every
twelve months.
6.1 Samples from incoming shipments may be checked for compliance with this
specification. The supplier must accept the responsibility of shipments
complying with this specification without dependence upon the buyer's
inspection, which will be performed at his option. The buyer agrees that
notification of rejection be made within a reasonable period of time.
