Situation:
During a trek, travelling downhill, one of your fellow hikers lost footing and slipped on a steep
section of the trail and fell 15 feet below, hit his head on a rock, and fell unconscious.
Question:
What is the first thing you will do?
Answer:
I would check the surroundings and ask for help first, if I’m left with no choice, I would do a
first aid by using sterile gauze or a clean sheet, apply strong pressure to the wound. If you
suspect a skull fracture, however, don't apply direct pressure to the wound. Keep an eye out for
improvements in your breathing and alertness.
