NARRATIVE REPORT DUNGAW SERIES 2021

DUNGAW for ALS Learners, In-Service, and Pre-Service Teachers, a webinar


series on the digital understanding of New Normal modalities using Google
Applications, was spearheaded by Central Bicol State University of Agriculture –
Sipocot, College of Education Extension Services. The main goal of this webinar series
is to educate participants on the various Google applications. As well as to improve their
skills in writing business correspondence, preparing for a job interview, speech
communication in the workplace, pre-employment preparation, and personality
development, all of which are important in building a career and entering the workforce.

The first session, which focused on ICT Applications for Online and Distant
Learning, began on October 23, 2021, through Zoom. Mr. Wilfred Joshua Godeloson,
College of Information Technology Instructor, spoke about it. The program started with
an invocation, followed by an audio-visual display of the Philippine National Anthem,
ASEAN hymn, and CBSUA hymn. Mrs. Vilma C. Lositaño, Coordinator, Extension Unit
of CBSUA – Sipocot, then delivered the opening remarks. Mr. Zeus M. Lositaño, the
Campus Administrator, then gave a message.

The lecturer discussed the usage of Microsoft Docs, Spreadsheets, Forms, and
Google Drives. Moreover, Prof. Godeloson assisted the participants in understanding
the many apps that they might utilize while dealing with distance learning and online
transactions. Following the talk, they held a workshop about the google application
through a collaborative activity. An open forum was arranged to provide answers to the
attendees’ questions. Mr. Darrel M. Ocampo, BSED Program Chairperson, delivered
the concluding comments at the end of the first session.

Meanwhile, the second plenary session kicked off on October 30, 2021, via
Zoom. The program started with the opening remarks from Dr. Ana Maria A. Bonito,
Dean, College of Education, and followed by a message from Prof. Charmayn N. Nate,
OSAS Chairperson. The speaker for the webinar was Mr. Ar-jay Llanera, faculty,
College of Information Technology, who discussed Google Classroom and Google
Forms, particularly their usage and functions. He also shared various tips to use the
said applications smoothly in teaching and learning processes.

The third plenary session began on November 6, 2021. The session started with
opening remarks by Dr. Ana Maria A. Bonito, Dean, College of Education, followed by a
message from Prof. Charmayn N. Nate, OSAS Chairperson. Mr. Vince Clemence
Carcido, a CIT Faculty at CBSUA-Sipocot, was the invited speaker at this session. He
discussed ICT applications for Online and Distance Learning, such as Google Meet,
Hangouts, and Google Mail. Furthermore, participants are requested to navigate the
Google meeting by holding a separate conference using such an app. In addition, he
required the participant to write an inquiry email to determine whether the participants
were familiar with the features of google mail.

On November 13, 2021, the 3rd plenary session of the webinar series, Ma’am
Apple Jane Tagum served as the resource speaker who provided two lectures for the
day. The first lecture was about Writing Business Correspondence which she had
discussed the importance of written communication in a form of business
correspondence. Whereas, the second lecture was about Preparing for a Job Interview
and Speech 101: The Rudiments of Speech Communication where she highlighted in
her discussion the essence of public speaking as a skill that an employee must
demonstrate at work.

On November 20, 2021, the 4th and final plenary session of the DUNGAW
extension activity and webinar series kicks off with Prof. Rhea Abergos and Prof.
Charmayn Nate served as the respective speakers. The morning session was about a
lecture on Pre-employment Preparation. Prof. Abergos discussed the topic of Preparing
for a Job Interview where she shared various etiquettes be that one must demonstrate
when applying for a job. She provided tips that one must consider before and during an
interview, as well as the questions that any applicants must be prepared of as a
significant part of an interview process.

On the afternoon session, Prof. Nate, OSAS Coordinator, shared a


comprehensive talk about Personality Development. She had discussed the
determinants of personality, key theories of personality, and the elements of personality
that one must understand especially in a workplace. She emphasized the importance of
personality development in performing ones’ duties and obligations as colleagues and
professionals at work.
The same procedure occurred after the lecture of every speaker. Questions from
the attendees were raised and acknowledged by the facilitator. After the forum, Mr.
Darrel M. Ocampo, BSED Program Chairperson and Coordinator of the Student
Publication delivered the closing remarks as well as words of gratitude for the resource
speakers and attendees of the DUNGAW extension activity and webinar series. For
each of the sessions, the attendees have received e-certificates for their participation in
the said activity.
