MOTIVATION

Quotation
Mention motivation as “internal factors that impel action
and external factors that can act as inducements to
action. The three aspects of action that motivation can
affect are direction (choice), intensity (effort), and
duration (persistence)”. (Locke & Latham, 2004, p. 388).
Therefore, motivation is essential to get success.
Students need to be persistent, hardworking, and
constant to achieve their goals, and for that reason, they
require motivation.

Paraphrasing

Motivation to learn a second language is seen as

referring to the extent to which the individual works or
strives to learn the language because of a desire to do so
and the satisfaction experienced in this activity.
Motivation is the combination of effort plus desire to
achieve the goal of learning the language and favorable
attitudes toward learning the language. (Alderman,
2004)

MOTIVATION
Quotation
Motivation involves a constellation of beliefs,
perceptions, values, interests, and actions that are all
closely related. As a result, various approaches to
motivation can focus on cognitive behaviors (such as
monitoring and strategy use), non-cognitive aspects
(such as perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes), or both. The
academic motivation as “enjoyment of school learning
characterized by a mastery orientation; curiosity;
persistence; task-endogeny; and the learning of
challenging, difficult, and novel tasks” (Gottfried 525).
Paraphrasing
The term motivation is the most unconsciously used
term, in the educational field, as to measure learner ‘s
achievement in the classroom. Researchers have proved
that motivation does matter in class and that the most
motivated learners are likely to be the most receptive
ones. It is stated that learners with different types of
motivation may display different patterns of interaction
in the language classroom and different progress levels.
The term motivation has attracted the attention of many
psychologists a long time ago. That is why it has been
defined differently. (Burner 112).
