On September 15, 1959 Doordarshan was established in New Delhi.
In 1965, it began airing to homes in and around New Delhi.

The Art Station Room, PVR Room, Studio, and Editing Room were all
shown to the students. For that groups of students were formed,
each led by a DD representative.

We first went to studio - 4 of the Doordarshan office where we were

taken to the lab where we were told about different broadcasting
types and the instruments used for it. Namely
1. Digital Audio mixer,
2. Vision mixer,
3. Talkback system
4. Title desktop for live headlines
5. Breakout Box.
 We learned about mass media communication and equipment
used for broadcasting of television shows namely DD NEWS and

BROADCAST
many other new channels.

All the components such as microphone, telepromter, camera and

its gymbal were explained in a brief manner for us to understand the
very soffesticated system and ecosystem of electronics which was
created in order to have an seamless transmission with multiple
active cameras and lighting.

Greens have a huge role in graphics of any television show, and

how the green screen Is converted into proper/desired
background for the show was shown.
 Students in their second year went to Doordarshan and learned about digital

OUR EXPERIENCE: terrestrial television (DTT). They were informed of the various transmission and
reception facts. Doordarshan had a thorough understanding of the subject of Page |
11 "Antenna Wave Propagation & TV Engineering." This trip made it evident how TV
was transmitted throughout history. It was a wonderful experience to learn RF
Engineering principles at Doordarshan. Being able to see what goes on behind the
scenes at one of India's most well-known and venerable television networks was a
wonderful experience

The third and the final visit of our program was at e-Info chips
Ahmedabad. E-Info chips is a Product Engineering and Semiconductor
Design Services headquartered in San Jose and Ahmedabad and offers
services for Device, Digital, Silicon, and Quality engineering. In January
2018, the company was acquired by Arrow Electronics, for its
specialization in IoT and product transformation capabilities.
