Also, | think it would be unfair to compare the two lenses since one of them is a F/1.4 which ‘would ideally give you great results while the other is a F/2.8. The Tamron lens won't be able to replicate the performance of a prime at F/1.4 since the Sigma will have a wider aperture. Dear Sir | had a question regarding the Tamron 17-70 mm lens. First the information, article and the video is great. But | wanted to know between the Tamron 17-70 vs Sony 18-105 f/4 which is best for video quality and also an all-rounder? Regs, Bharat Drishyam Hi Bharat Thanks for your words of appreciation. Both lenses deliver good quality videos and perform well overall. But in terms of sharpness | found the Tamron performing slightly better. They both are good lenses and you will have to choose on 2 things according to me: 1. Ifyou need a wider aperture because a wider aperture will give you better lowlight performance. 2. f you have the budget But the price of the Tamron is more than the Sony. Hence, it isn’t much of a stretch to say that light is the most crucial aspect of photography. Without light, you wouldn't be able to see, much less click a picture. When it comes to photography, the right light can make or break a photograph. And don't make the mistake of assuming that lighting is only important for illumination; the right light plays multiple roles - it illuminates, sets the mood, evokes emotions and narrate stories. Thus, if you master lighting in your photography, you have overcome one of the biggest challenges! TEXT: SANCHIT MISHRA EMBER2001. 63 TIPS AND TECHS Difference between Despite the fact that they serve the same purpose, vibrance and saturation are not the same. You may not obtain the best results if you use them alternately. Fortunately, distinguishing between them isn’t all that difficult. r ‘Saturation brings out the best in every colour in an image. You'l obtain an extremely vivid image it you move the saturation slider all the way to the right. In terms of colour, your results will be nearly cartoonish, When you move the saturation slider all the way to the left, you'll get an image with almost little colour. Simply said, saturation may diminish colours and tum them to black and white. AA saturation slider is an ordinary tool in all kinds of post processing software, including: + Photoshop + Lightroom + Snapseed + PicsArt (64, ASIAN PHOTOGRAPHY se: ce SE Vibrance brings out certain colours in a picture. It identifies ‘muted or undersaturated colours and enhances their visibility, ‘All of the subdued colours in your image will be altered if you move the vibrance slider all the way to the right. They wil draw attention to themselves and balance out your image. The colours in your image that are already saturated will not be altered, In the portrait photography genre, the vibrance tool is highly Useful. Its great for altering skin tones because i's selective when it comes to enhancing colours. The vibrance too, ke the saturation tool, is accessible in most editing applications. ‘So, what should you do if you utilise the vibrance and saturation tools interchangeably? Is it better to use vibrance or saturation? Is it required to alter both? ‘You must understand when and how to apply vibrance and saturation. You'llbe able to employ vibrance and saturation more successfully in your work if you acquire a feel for them. Keep in mind that one ig not an alternative to the other. Using them interchangeably may have a negative impact on your image. ‘Another thing to remember s to maintain a sense of balance. ‘To get the most out of your settings, you should have complete control over them. To prevent your photograph from appearing Unattractive, use changes that are flattering. It is a retro-style camera, but it also contains al ofthe necessities, that consumers require. Typically, manufacturers keep such designs, ‘simple, which means you have to go the extra step of utilising the fast menu to access functions. 70 ASIANPHOTOGRAPHY When it comes to the sensor, this ‘camera practically has the same sensor ‘as the Nikon Z50, and most people mistake it for a 250 with a different appearance. It is equipped with a 2i-megapixel APS-C sensor and 200 ‘autofocus points in the single-point AF mode. The cameras driven by the same Expeed 6 processor as the 250. The EVF is an OLED display that fils the whole frame and has a resolution of 2.3 milion dots. Unfortunately, there isn't much clarification on the refresh rate yet, but in our testing, we didn't notice any latency in anything, The Z fc use the same battery as the 250 and, according to the CIPA certification, can provide 300 photos per charge. However, it can be charged through USB Type-C, which is a nice thing because it lessens the strain of charging, The autofocus tracking is borrowed from the Z series, which employs a large AF-Area to track the target. The technology works well in both the Z series and this camera. ‘The camera is and functions similarly to any other Nikon camera in terms of image quai. It produces pictures that are crisp and clear. The saturation and tone range are good and attractive to the eye, as everyone is accustomed to with Nikon images. The low-light photos are also quite nice, but it does search for focus occasionally, very litle, but most of the time itis bang on. In terms of ISO performance, the le-camera produces photos that are easily acceptable up to 3200. However, as the example photos show, noise begins to appear at 6400, In terms of video capability, the ‘camera can shoot 4K at up to 30 fps, but it lacks integrated image stabilization, which may be a disadvantage given that itis likely aimed at vioggers. The good news is that it shoots 4K without cropping, It also does not have the ability to watch on an external output, although this should not be a problem because most vioggers or users of this camera would not utilise such things. The ‘camera's video performance is excellent It focuses quickly, produces high-quality results, and there isn't anything to ‘complain about in this department. ‘So, what are our thoughts on the Nikon Ze? Interms of style, appearance, land usage, it ranks quite high on our list. In terms of performance, it can undoubtedly offer nice sharp photos as well as good video. It does not allow you to shoot with an external screen, but do not believe that most customers in this category are searching for it However, we are con the cost. The Nikkor Z OX 1 1/3.5-633 VR (Silver lens costs € 97,995, while the Nikkor Z 28mm 12.8 (SE) lens costs € 1,05,995, with the body alone ‘costing € 84,995, Customers inthis price range may be interested in investing in an entry-level full frame camera, lke as the Z5, fora few thousand dollars more for the body only. While the performance Of this 22mm is excellent, as itis an 1/2.8 lens, which means it isn't a quick lens for has a very narrow depth of focus. AS a consequence, we'd prefer to use this ‘camera with an #/1.8 lens. So, as time passes and t price of this camera begins to fall gradually, we believe it makes more sense to invest in it, Because it will be a wondertul investment as a stan combined with a nice lens at the time, ero desig, ncomrtable gp ad less weight th ina, ena plans ed Good image quay butte expensive TEXT: BHAVYA DESAI IMAGES: SUIAY J SHATANANDA CAMERA REVIEW ujifilm X-E4 The Fujifilm X-E4 is a lightweight, rangefinder-style camera with a 26MP APS-C sensor that works with the company’s X-mount lens family.
