SCRIPT FOR VIDEO PRESENTATION

As pandemic hit economy, tourism have been affected too. You have noticed the
changes within our places. Establishments were closed; hotels, resorts, tourist spots
and anywhere else where you can at least have the relaxation that you wanted to have.
As a tourism student I am, looking back, I did question myself, is this the end of it? Has
our purpose in giving excellent service faded? Sooner or later as we graduate, we will
achieve our dreams but having thoughts of being not able to prepare on what will
happened scares me. I may not fulfill my duty in providing hospitality, tourism
management and other services I could offer towards people. In relation to this I started
to feel anxious, is this because I am not prepared in any disasters? This leads me on
finding out the significant relationship of disaster preparedness among hotel employees
in Tagum City and its relationship to the level of anxiety. Knowing my family loves to
check in hotels in Tagum City, especially I belong to a big family, we love to celebrate in
a hotel that are excellent in giving services and has a good tourism attraction too. So
back on track, my objectives in completing this study are determining the disaster
preparedness of hotel employees, Identify the level of anxiety of hotel employees; and
assess the relationship between disaster preparedness and level of anxiety of the hotel
employees. Moving forward, I will the data obtained from and will be analyze using
descriptive statistics, specifically frequency, mean, and weighted mean. Pearson
correlation will be use in determining the relationship between disaster preparedness
and level of anxiety of the respondents. The following indicators were used to assess
Employees’ level of anxiety and Employees’ disaster preparedness using a 30-item
questionnaire. Stratified Random Sampling technique was used in selecting the hotel
employees working in different hotel establishment in Tagum City. Based on the
computation using Pearson's r, there was a substantial moderate positive correlation
between the variables. Meanwhile, it showed a significant relationship between the
disaster preparedness and level of anxiety among local hotel employees in Tagum City.
Added to this, I will be following all the desired formats in making this study possible for
completion.
