I. Select one Kartilya value which you like and explain how it relates to your
personal life. Two paragraphs with 5 to 6 sentences each.

“A good deed lacks virtue if it springs from a desire for personal profit and not
from a sincere desire to do good.” Humans are known to be selfish and they like
to think the world revolves around them. It’s always about “me” and not about
“us”. Some popular videos show good deeds but at the same time, it’s just for
their own personal gain. It makes you question all the good deeds that were done
if that was for their own personal gain.

I’ve dealt with bullying and fake friendships, especially during my high school
days. They were nice because they want something from me. During my Senior
Highschool time, I was known as someone who have money and can afford
things since throughout kindergarten to high school I’ve been enrolled in a private
school. And with that information, they wanted to be friends with me since I can
treat them whenever they want and me being clueless agreed to anything that
they want. I thought that they wanted to be friends with me but apparently, they
wanted something else for their own good.

issue and explain its relation to that Kartilya value.
 “Defend the oppressed and fight the oppressor.” When Marcos Jr. won a
lot of Filipinos are sad, disappointed, and worried. What if the things that
happened before during the term of his father happen again? For years
people fought the dictatorship of the Marcoses but here we are again
dealing with the son of the dictator and suffering again. We never learned
anything and instead of believing what the books and historian said, we
chose to believe the fake information.

October 4, 2022, The news about the killing of Percy Lapid reignighted a
protest to defend press freedom. These people protested even though it
was risky and showed courage to stand up and defend our rights. Since
then we’ve been fighting for our rights and fighting the oppressors to have
our freedom. It never ends, from the time of the Katipunan to the present
time we have been defending ourselves. The people who are in the
streets yelling and protesting are the ones that are brave enough to fight
for the oppressed, they are not the enemies.

● Defend the oppressed and fight the oppressor.
➢ During the spanish colonial period, we are liberated and we don’t
have the freedom that we have today. So during that time the
revolutionaries are fighting the oppressors ad risking their lives to
have that freedom that we all want.

➢ It is known that during that time some filipinos are siding with the
spaniards or the americans for their own personal gain. They will
betray the country to have a better class or status.
● Do not regard a woman as a mere plaything, but as a helpmate and
partner in the hardships of this existence. Have due regard to her
weakness, and remember the mother who brought you into this world and
nurtured you in your infancy
➢ Women are seen as fragile, less, and a plaything. Since then
women are discriminated from studying and doing something else
rather than waiting for a suitor and marrying someone.
