Long bay-a very famous place in Vietnam.

Location

Ha Long Bay is located in northeast Vietnam. The bay ranges from Quang Yen town to Van Don
district, with Lan Ha bay to the south and southeast, Ha Long city to the north, and Bai Tu Long
bay to the west.

Climate

The bay's climate is tropical and humid, with two seasons: hot and humid summer and dry and
cold winter. The average temperature is 15–25 °C, and yearly rainfall ranges from 2 to 2.2
meters. The UNESCO World Heritage Committee listed Ha Long Bay on the World Heritage
List in 2000.

Name, Area

Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist attraction in Quang Ninh
Province, Vietnam. Ha Long means "dragon grandson of fairies." The bay belongs to Ha Long
city, Cam Pha city and is a part of Van Don district.. Ha Long Bay covers around 1,553 km2 and
has 1,960–2,000 islets. The bay's core is 334 km2 and has a density of 775 islets. The limestone
in this bay has formed over 500 million years in various conditions and environments. There are
14 endemic plant species and 60 endemic animal species in Ha Long Bay.

Festivals

Halong Carnival is one of the most famous festivals in Halong Bay, or in Quang Ninh Province
in general. This festival hosts some of the hottest entertaining shows in Vietnam during recent
years, and has become one of the reasons that the foreign visitors keep coming back to Halong
Bay.Halong Carnaval usually takes place in late April, early May. Ha Long Carnival has a lot of
bustling and attractive activities to the visitors. The best is the street festival with models,
dancers dancing elaborately. The festival is held in the evening, with many traditional festival
like Tien Cong festival, Dao people ceremony, the wedding ceremony of the fisherman in Quang
Ninh or the dancing and singing festival of Sán Chay ethnic group.

Ha Long city

Hạ Long is the capital city and 1st-class provincial city of Quảng Ninh Province, Vietnam. The
name Hạ Long means "descending dragon". The city was created in 1993, when the old capital,
Hòn Gai, was merged with Bãi Cháy – the main tourist area. The city mainly lies on Hạ Long
Bay. Hạ Long city is divided into two parts: East Hạ Long and West Hạ Long. The eastern part,
Hòn Gai, where most of the official buildings and industrial infrastructure are concentrated, is
connected by bridge with the western part, Bãi Cháy, considered to be an area for tourism.
Moreover, tourists coming to ha long bay can join lots of interesting activities such as playing
games on the beach, cruising on the bay, shopping at the largest city market, utilities of resorts
from popular to high-class or trying some seafood dishes,… The best time to go to Ha Long Bay
is in spring and autumn (from April to October) because the weather in this time is very cool and
awesome but anyway you can come to Ha Long Bay anytime. We always welcome you.
