Background of the Project

Don Carlos Polytechnic College is an institution meant to provide a safe and healthy
environment for every student. But there is a problem left unseen within the fences of
DCPC. In order to promote cleanliness, the school has gone through several ways on
how to deal with our problems regarding garbage and wastes. There are existing
policies about garbage disposal before the pandemic. The proper segregation of
wastes is strictly imposed per classroom. A sanction is rendered to those who will
violate the said policy. As of the moment, the school is facing a problem on how to
deal with the garbage segregation. With the given issue, the proponents proposed the
project which is the purchase of a garbage truck. The main reason why this project is
proposed is because the school’s garbage are no longer collected by the garbage truck
from the LGU-Don Carlos, according to one of the utility personnel. That is why, in
order to address the problem, the utility personnel uses his own tricycle to collect the
garbage in every room. Also, one of the problem is that the garbage are sometimes
burned within the premises of DCPC. This has to be addressed as soon as possible. In
addition, for the safety and protective measures of the utility personnel, the
proponents will also propose PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to all of them.
