7.2. Wall Mounted Type

7.2.1 Wall Mounted Unit Installation

The indoor unit must be installed in such a way so as to prevent short circuit
of the cool discharge air with the hot return air. Please follow the
installation clearance shown in the figure. Do not place the indoor unit
where there could be direct sunlight shinning on it. Also, this location must
be suitable for piping and drainage and be a way from doors or windows.
 The refrigerant piping can be routed to the unit in a number of ways
(left or right from the back of the unit),by using the cut-out holes on
the casing of the unit See figure 11
 Bend the pipe carefully to the required position in order to aligned it
with holes.

 For the right hand and the rear side out, hold the bottom of piping and
then position it to the requiredposition, the condensation drain hose
can be taped to the pipe.

7.2.2 Mount the unit onto the installation plate

 Hook the indoor unit onto the upper portion of the installation plate
(engage the two hooks at the rear topof the indoor unit with the upper
edge of the installation plate)
 Ensure that the hooks are properly seated on the installation plate by
moving it to the left and right

7.7.1 Location Installation
 Install the condensing ( Outdoor ) unit in a way such that hot air
distributed by the outdoor condensing unit cannot be drawn in again (as
in the case of short circuit of hot discharge air).Allow sufficient space
for maintenance around the unit
 Ensure that there no obstruction of air flow into or out of the
unit.Remove obstacle which block air intake or discharge
 A place where the hot air discharge and operating sound level will not
annoy the neighbours
 The location must not be susceptible to dust or oil mist

9.2 Pump Foundation Preparation

 A leveling pad where its top is leveled as desired of base plate of pump. The
leveling pad will be made and cure atleast 3 daysprior to start of pump
installation.
 Surface of pump foundation shall be chipped and roughened. (see figure 53)
 Similar treatment shall be applied to surface of foundation bolt holes.
 Roughen and clean the foundation. Surface of grouting hole must have rough
surface and must be free fromthe pollution. Remove any loose particle, dirt or
oil-soaked concrete. All base plate surface which will be in contact with grout
must be clean.

9.3 Pump Base Plate

 Use shims under base for support at anchor bolt to position base
approximately.
 By adding or removing shims under the base, level and plumb the pump shaft
and flanges. The base plate does not have to be leveled.
 Approximately 15-20mm of the top of concrete foundation shall be
roughened/chipped to remove the weakupper layer of concrete, damage
concrete and any oil-soaked area.
 Draw anchor nuts tight against base, and observe pump and motor shaft or
coupling hubs for alignment.
 If alignment need improvement, add shims or wedges at appropriate position
under base,so that retightening of anchor nuts will shift shafts into closer
alignment. Repeat procedures until a reasonable alignment is reached.

9.4 Pump Coupling Alignment

Proper rough alignment must be made during unit setting and grouting.Every
alignment check must be preceded by a run-out measurement at the coupling
flanges. Always log the results. All reading for radial and axial misalignment are
determined in the gauge positions: top, bottom, right and left, every 90º while both
shafts are simultaneously turned.Alignment shall be carried out with clock gauge in
radial and axial direction. The maximum admissible axial misalignment is 0.05mm
on diameter, although ≤ 0.03mm is preferable. The maximum admissible radial
misalignment is 0.01mm on diameter, although ≤ 0.05mm is preferable.

9.4.1 Alignment Method

 Fasten the indicator stand or magnetic base to the pump half of the
coupling and adjust the assemblyuntil the indicator button is resting on
the other half coupling periphery.
Set the dial to zero and chalk mark the coupling half where the button
rests. Also place a separator betweenthe couplinghalves so bearing slack
does not affect the readings. (chalk and separators are not necessaryon
the elastomeric coupling that have not been disconnected). Rotate both
shafts by the same amount; All reading must be made with the button on
the chalk mark.

METHOD STATEMENT MS-009
FOR

 The dial readings will indicate whether the driver has to be raised,
lowered or moved to either sideAccurate alignment of shaft centers can
be obtained whith this method even where faces or outsidediameters of
the coupling are not square or cocentric with the bores

After each adjustment, recheck both parallel and angular

alignments.Permissible Coupling Misalignment :

single element coupling

paralel=
.004∗TIR (4 mils)

single element coupling

angular=
.004∗TIR per inch of radius ( R)

9.5 Grouting of Anchor Bolts

Grout compensates for uneven foundation, distributes weight of unit and prevents
shiftings. Use an approved, non-shrinking grout, after setting and leveling unit.

 Buildstrong form around the foundation to contain grout

 Soak top of concrete foundation thoroughly, then remove surface water
 Base plate should be completely filled with grout.

METHOD STATEMENT MS-009
FOR

EQUIPMENT CARRYING &
SETTING WORKS Date

 After the grout has thoroughly hardened, check the foundation bolts and
tighten if necessary.
 Check the alignment after the foundation bolts are tightened.
 Approximately 14 days after the grout has been poured or when the grout has
thoroughly dried, apply an oil-based paint to the exposed edges of the grout to
prevent air and moisture from coming in contact with the grout.

10.1 Foundation Preparation

Tank foundation should be evaluated on a regular basis, as deterioration of the

foundation can lead to majorproblems elsewhere. Careful visual observation is key
to inspecting a foundation.
