CHAPTER I

A. BACKGROUND

In working in automotive workshops, be it a motorcycle repair shop or a car repair shop,

you need equipment to disassemble the components.
Because it is impossible for a mechanic to use his bare hands to repair a motorbike/car.
These tools exist because almost all components in a motor vehicle, be it a motorcycle,
car, bus, etc., are put together using bolts that can be removed with keys or workshop
tools.
So the function of automotive workshop tools is a tool used to carry out and facilitate in
terms of dismantling, repairing, to reassembling engine components. In other words,
more specifically, it functions to open and tighten (lock) a bolt against the nut or vice
versa.
Meanwhile, the workshop equipment used as work aids is divided into two, namely hand
tools and powered tools. Hand tools are automotive workshop tools whose use only relies
on human power, for example, such as ring locks, spanners, screwdrivers, pliers, shock
locks etc.
Meanwhile, powered tools are workshop equipment whose use requires external
power, such as compressors, air guns, air impact wrench, electric welding, electric jacks,
etc.

B. PROBLEM FORMULATION

1.Basic Theory
2.get to know workshop tools

C. PURPOSE

The definition of a general workshop is a place (building or room) for

maintenance/maintenance, repair, modification of tools and machines (alsin), a place for
manufacturing machine parts and assembling machineries. While the agricultural
workshop is a place to make, repair, store and maintain various agricultural machinery. In
the workshop there must be tools and materials that support the activities carried out in
the workshop. And every party related to this activity must understand the issue of
occupational safety and health (Anonymous, 2011). , practical room buildings / workshops
are well maintained, no leaks, all doors and windows are safe, courtyards and gardens are
well maintained, electrical installations are adequate and safe, equipment circulation
systems are safe and smooth.
CHAPTER III

A. BASIC THEORY

In general, the function of the workshop is to serve the technical needs of its customers. This
means that vehicle repair is the job of a repair shop and only takes place if the customer
encounters difficulties with his vehicle. For this reason, the system and administration of the
workshop is directed to the organization and facilities that can facilitate technical work in the
internal workshop. (Anonymous, 2011).
Nowadays, workshops are required to have a different mindset and operational concept. A
shabby and dirty workshop will be visited by few customers and maybe even no customers. Very
limited facilities make the workshop not
Credible.
and customers are reluctant to come to him. The facilities in question are not only technical
facilities for workshops but also facilities that must be available to customers. Like it or not, as long
as the vehicle is being worked on, the customer will wait and certainly don't want to lose time.
CHAPTER III

A. Tool name and function

1. Combinatin Spanner (Kunci Pas-Ring)

A ring wrench is a combination wrench and a ring wrench, one side with a ring wrench, and the
other with a wrench. Each head is the same size. Its function is to remove and loosen bolts.

2. Adjustable Wrench / Shifting Spanner

A wrench that is often referred to as a wrench that can be adjusted to adjust the size of the bolt
head / nut. This key has the shape of a wrench, and is indeed used when, unable to use a wrench, or
when there is no other key available. This wrench has a head with one jaw fixed and the other jaw
adjustable.
3. Screwdriver (Obeng)

Screwdrivers are automotive repair tools that function to open or tighten screws. The two most
common types of screwdrivers are the plus screwdriver (philip screwdriver) and the minus
screwdriver (slotte screwdriver).

4. Combination Plier (Tang Kombinasi)

combination pliers, these pliers have many uses because they are called combination pliers.
5. Offset Ring Spanner (Kunci Ring)

Ring wrench is a key used to remove bolts or nuts, whose heads are closed (circular) with a total of
12 teeth. The ring wrench has an offset of about 45 degrees, with an angle of this size it allows the
spanner to be attached exactly to the nut/bolt, with the correct position. difficult.

CHAPTER III

Conclusion
Automotive workshop equipment is equipment in the from of tools that are useful for repairing
motorcycles or cars, as well as matters related to automotive workshops.
So the function of automotive workshop tools is a tool used to carry out and facilitate in terms of
dismantling, repairing, to reassembling engine components. In other words, more specifically, it
functions to open and tighten (lock) a bolt against the nut or vice versa.
