Android-based Bookaholics Circle App

1) Background/ Problem Statement

A bookaholic is someone who reads habitually or frequently. This book

finder system is a well-organized collection of information sources that
are made available to the user. The use of modern systems has become
essential for timely collection and release of knowledge, as well as
improved service to users.
Our Bookaholics Circle System intends to create an android application
that will allow book enthusiasts to exchange and borrow books from
other users whether it’s novels or educational books. It will also allow
users to have one-on-one or group discussions about specific books.
There are three major features in this android application: user profile,
chat window, and group discussion platform. Users can interact and
share their ideas with others who share their interests. In this project,
the front-end involves XML, Android-Java and the back-end involves
MSSQL. The IDE used is Android Studio.
2) Working of the Project

In this system, to log into the system, the user needs to register first
with basic details including book preferences. The user can see all the
books they own: novels and educational. Can view the list of all the
people whom I recently chatted with.

Users can search by book name, author name, genre, etc. to see the list
of people who have those books and search by course, subject, etc. and
a list of people who have those books. Users can look for all the groups
they have interacted with, search for new groups based on book, author
or genre and create a new group.

5) Project Life Cycle

The waterfall model is a classical model used in the system

development life cycle to create a system with a linear and sequential
approach. It is termed a waterfall because the model develops
systematically from one phase to another in a downward fashion. The
waterfall approach does not define the process to go back to the
previous phase to handle changes in requirements. The waterfall
approach is the earliest approach that was used for software
development.
