1. What is FSH’s role in both Female and Male reproductive system?

First and foremost, FSH stands for Follicle-stimulating hormone. The anterior pituitary gland
produces this hormone in response to gonadotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus. FSH
is involved in both male and female sexual development and reproduction. Its roles in the female
reproductive system include the synthesis of estrogen and the formation of follicles. Induction and
maintenance of spermatogenesis is its function in the male reproductive system. FSH in FRS
stimulates the ovarian follicle, causing an egg to develop and aiding in the regulation of the
menstrual cycle. In MRS, FSH controls the production of sperm.
2. What is LH’s role in both Female and Male reproductive system?
LH is an abbreviation for Luteinizing Hormone, which is found in our blood. This hormone is
essential for sexual development and functioning. In FRS, LH regulates a woman's menstrual cycle by
triggering the release of an egg from the ovary, a process called as ovulation. In MRS, LH stimulates
the testicles to produce testosterone, which is necessary for sperm production.
3. What is the role of Testosterone/ Estrogen and Progesterone in both female and male reproductive
system?
Testosterone is a male sex hormone. It plays a key role in the development of male reproductive
tissues such as testes and prostate as well as promoting secondary sexual characteristics such as
increased muscles and bone mass, and the growth of body hair. In women, testosterone helps with
the growth, maintenance, and repairs of the woman’s reproductive tissues, bone mass and human
behaviors. In the other hand, Estrogen is a female sex hormone. Its function is the development of
female secondary sexual characteristics. It is part of your women’s menstrual cycle, helps them to get
pregnant, and plays a role in helping develop bones and grow hair. It also helps regulate your moods
and impacts your brain development structure. In men, estrogen helps in maturation of the sperm
and maintenance of a healthy libido. Progesterone is a one of the two female hormones secreted by
the female reproductive system that prepares the endometrium for the potential of pregnancy after
ovulation.
