July, 2022. No entry will entertain after the
last date of 12th July, 2022.
Free for Players of Government School
Students and the Sponsor TI Cycles
of India. Students of Visually impaird,
Physically Challenged Rs. 100/- and
S.B.O.A. Matriculation Hr. Sec. School
is Rs. 200/-
1. For each category, one TI Cycle will be
given as first prize.
2. The runner up will be awarded with
the prestigious Kamalam John Samuel
Memorial rolling Trophy sponsored by
Mr. J.C.D. Prabhakar, Ex.M.L.A., & Ex.
President, All India Chess Federation.
3. Glittering cups / mementos will be given
to the remaining 2nd to 18th Rankers (160
Nos.). 16th Ranker each to the players
of sponsor TICI (10 Nos.), 17th Ranker
each to Venue sponsor, S.B.O.A.
Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, (10 Nos.)
and 18th Rankers each to Government
School Students (10 Nos.) respectively.
4. TI Cycles Ever Rolling Trophy for Best
Performing School / College.
5. Special award will be given to the
school/ College sending more students.
6. Special award will be given to the
Chess Academy sending more
students.
7. Special award will be given to the
Best Performing Government School
Students.
Rules and Regulations
1. The Tournament is open to Tamil Nadu
Players only.
2. The Latest FIDE Rules in force shall
apply and the Swiss system will be
followed.
3. Time Control: Each Half an hour.
4. The first round will commence at 10.00
AM on 16th July, 2022. The number of
rounds and the round-wise schedule
will be announced at the tournament
venue.
5. Players are requested to bring their
own international chess sets (and
chess clock if, any).
6. Tiebreak: Buchholz tiebreak system will
be applied. In case of tie, prizes will not
be shared.
7. The Chief Arbiter’s decisions shall
be final and binding on all players
concerned.
8. Age proof Certificate must be produced
for Children’s category prizes.
9. The TNSCA / Tiruvallur District Chess
Association / The Venue Sponsor
reserve the rights of admission to the
venue and lodging place.
10. Participation certificates will be
awarded to all participants.
11. Lunch and Breakfast will be provided
on payment at the venue itself.
12. All players are required to mandatorily
adhere to the Covid protocol issued by
the Government of India/ Government
of Tamil Nadu at the time of the
tournament.

Under - 12 Born on or After 01.01.2010
Under - 14 Born on or After 01.01.2008
Under - 25 Born on or After 01.01.1997
13. TIC and SBOS MHSS are the
Tournament and Venue sponsors
respectively. Both of them are not
in any way responsible in case any
untoward incident takes place in
the venue during the course of
Tournament period. Therefore, TDCA
office bearers may be contacted for
giving any complaint(s) relating to
the Tournament, and in any case,
Tournament and Venue sponsors
should not be approached for any
purpose.
