Reproductive Behavior Assignment
Case 1:
 The name of the condition shown by Baby Alex is called Androgen Insensitivity
Syndrome.
 The type of gonads that Alex have are testes.
 No, Alex will not to be able to mensurate or have children in the future.
 I would not recommend anything because I do not know if Alex would like to change
anything.
Case 2:
 The name of the condition shown by Chris is called 5-Alpha Reductase Deficiency.
 Chris is genetically male.
 The levels of male sex hormones lead to the development of some secondary sex
characteristics, such as increased muscle mass, deepening of the voice, development of
pubic hair, and a growth spurt.
 Chris may be upset that he cannot have biological children.
 The information that I would give his parents concerning about his development is that he
would not be able to grow any pubic or facial hair.
Case 3:
 Baby Santino's biological sex at birth was male.
 I believe that Baby Santino does not have female ducts.
 The function of DHT is biologically important for sexual differentiation of the male
genitalia during embryogenesis, maturation of the penis and scrotum at puberty, growth
of facial, body, and pubic hair, and development and maintenance of the prostate gland
and seminal vesicles.
 I would expect Baby Santino’s brain to show a male brain pattern development.
Case 4:
 Without any hormone supplements Baby J would likely have a noncyclic hypothalamus.
 With hormone supplements Baby J will develop feminine features like low body hair,
high-pitched voice, and soft jawline, but will not fertile or menstruate.
 Baby J will not naturally produce estrogen and will not have a uterus or other female
organs which will cause them to grow and identify as male.
 They will still have internal prostate gland.

Case 5:
 The child will have internal and external male reproductive organs, but the baby does
have a chance that they will have ambiguous genitalia.
 The baby’s assigned sex at birth will most likely be male.
 I believe that the child would not be affected by the cross over.
