SEMI - DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 2
(4A’s Approach)

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. recognize descriptions of people, objects, things and places (color, shape,
size, height, weight, length, distance, etc.);
b. share experiences on how they accept and love themselves; and
c. match appropriate descriptive words to pictures.
II. Subject Matter: Accepting and Loving Oneself

III. Procedure:

A. Preparatory Activities
A. Motivation:
At first, the teacher will show a picture of people, objects, things or places
and then, she will ask the students one by one to describe the given
picture.

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
a. Setting of Standards:
 The teacher will set classroom rules for students to follow
during the class.

2. Activity:
The teacher will read a summarized version of a short story entitled
“Pretty Faye” and ask the students to remember or write down some
important descriptive words of the characters and events from the story as
the teacher is reading. The teacher will then ask the students to describe
the main character of the story and the important events of the story.

3. Analysis:
The teacher will give more emphasis about the topic which is the
Descriptive Adjective and give some examples taken from the story
selection.
Descriptive Adjectives
Descriptive Adjectives specifies the shape, size, or color of the
noun they modify. Descriptive Adjectives are often called common
adjectives as they describe a noun in a general way. In general,
descriptive adjectives are placed before the noun they are describing.

An adjective can also come after the linking verb to be when the
adjective describes the subject of a sentence. Descriptive Adjectives can
also be formed from proper noun and is called proper adjective. It is
always capitalized.

C. Concluding Activities
1. Abstraction:
The teacher will ask questions about descriptive adjectives and ask
them to give some examples of decriptive adjectives.

2. Application:
The teacher will ask the students to bring one of their favorite toys
at home and they are going to give one descriptive adjective about the toy
they will bring.

3. Valuing:
The teacher will ask “Are we all the same in terms of our
appearances or characteristics?”, “Do we need to respect each
other’s differences? Why?”, Do we need to accept and love
ourselves? Why?”
IV. Evaluation
Directions: Number your paper from 1 to 5. A picture of people, objects, things or
places will be flashed on the screen one at a time. You are going to write your
own descriptive adjective base on the picture you see.
