- “How technology has influenced one’s life as a learner and how one is going to
use technology as a teacher.”

Over the years technology never ceases to improve our daily lives. It constantly
put us in a more convenient situation, so that we can live in a more comfortable
way. As a learner I witness some advancement that technology brings us over
the years. I remember when I was in elementary grade my teacher used to teach
us how to read using the written abakada in a manila paper. I also often see her
typing on a typewriter with her fellow teachers. It was indeed difficult before since
we do not have access of technology yet, students have to bring many books
everyday for them to have guide when the discussion started. It usually happens
because the mode of instruction is always based from the book. Nowadays,
Digital culture has invaded our daily life modern technology like Laptop,
computer, projector as well as mobile phones and other high tech Instructional
materials which are not yet accessible before has been widely dispersed.
As I went to high school I gradually been exposed to some technological tools
and social media technology. I also learn to make used of this technology in my
studies wherein I can search and browse everything I needed to know using
search engines. As times goes on, I go deeper in love of technology especially
on the social networking sites. Un knowingly the ethical and security issues in
using technology. In Facebook I tend to accept all those who sends me friend
request and I also posted photos indicating my location which then I became
aware when I learned from my teacher that it is a dangerous act. It is like
updating those strangers who has bad intention to harm us. Because of this, we
need to be accountable in everything that we do especially when involved to
social media technology.
As a future teacher who will teach in the near future, I will utilize technology when
I teach because it makes the discussion more interesting and more
understandable but on the other hand, I will also explain to them the pros and
cons of technology highlighting the ethical and security issues involving
technology. I do believe that this will help them become efficient user of
Information and Communication technology molding them to be good and
responsible user of technologies in all aspects.
