Lyndon’s Pasalubong

I. BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY

Lyndon’s Pasalubong is an online retail business of peanuts, corn chips and other
related products. Lyndon’s Pasalubong was established in year 2000 by Teodoro Y. Reyes
and Jocelyn D. Reyes. The brand name Lyndon’s Pasalubong was created by their name,
Jocelyn and Mr. Reyes nickname, Don. Lyndon’s Pasalubong is a family business started by
Mr. Reyes’ parents and has been passed down through generations. It aims to give a
convenient way to sell pasalubong products for people who loves to buy these products
during this pandemic. Lyndon’s Pasalubong has a physical store located at Zamora st. Cut-
cut 1st, Tarlac City. Store hours starts at 10am and ends at 9pm. 3 stores are currently
operating within Tarlac. 2nd branch is located at cut-cut 1st beside Magic Star Mall, and 3rd
branch is located at Sto. Domingo II, CapasTarlac. Mr. and Mrs. Reyes came up with the
idea to widen the target customer and open the business for online delivery. During this time
of pandemic, they have to come up with the new normal set up and provide their products
with the use of the internet. From how it affects the business, they push this online delivery
so that it can reach also other Barangays in Tarlac City. And especially they can still help
Page

customers to get these products without going to a physical stores.

3
Lyndon’s Pasalubong

Lyndon’s Pasalubong was created based on the livelihood of Peanuts in the province.
Peanuts in the province is one of the source of food that inspired Mr. Reyes mother to start a
business with it. Since then the business operates well in providing products like peanuts,
dilis, cashew nuts, beans and many more. But with this pandemic, they start operating their
business in social media such as in Facebook and Shopee. Because of the increased in sales
and popularity in town, varieties of choices of products are now available in Lyndon’s
Pasalubong like longganisa, leche flan, etc.

Employees are the number one asset and priority of every company, and without
them, business would not exist. As for human resource management, which is considered to
be a support operation, the ERP software can specialize in the production of the human
capital information system. It allows the Lyndon’s Pasalubong to incorporate best practices
in the HR role, including recruiting and selection, training and development, evaluation,
succession planning and others that lead to learning and growth inside the organization. This

system is an application based framework for workers and managers alike. It allows them to

edit and access information relevant to HR online. In this way, workers will be engage in
their individual Human Resource duties and take responsibility for the data entry and
accuracy of their personal details, thus minimizing the number of calls and paperwork
carried out by HR professionals. In addition, Human Resources of Lyndon’s Pasalubong,
ERP system will enable to accommodate the entire spectrum of employee management, from
on-boarding to off-boarding, and from salary management to timekeeping. The most critical
function you need from the HR part is payroll functionality. Submitting payrolls and making
direct deposits by hand is extremely time-consuming. With the access of ERP managing

significant sacrifices, and adversity. However, after 20 years, it now has outlets that serve
not only its loyal customers but also contribute modestly to the country's economic growth.
Despite this, Lyndon’s has been active in participating in various food and business
exhibitions, as well as sponsoring and attending various prestigious events, which allows the
business to expand its sales to new prospects and network with various professionals
throughout the province of Tarlac; it is instrumental in promoting products and services, as
well as analyzing the business’ impact on the market. Lyndon's also strives to encourage
social commitment, the desire to be dedicated to others in need, by continuing to sponsor and
actively participate in business, social, and charitable events.

III. MAJOR PROBLEMS OF THE COMPANY IT IS CURRENTLY

ENCOUNTERING
Page

8
Lyndon’s Pasalubong

Starting a business is not easy as we think it is. Lyndon’s Pasalubong experienced

ups and downs in their business and because of how their family started it made them
believe and risk it all for the sake of their living. It is risky but if you have the passion and
love with what you are doing, and the confidence to face obstacles in the process, hard
works really pays off in time. During this pandemic they face the biggest problem because of
how half of their sales deflated. Pandemic made a huge impact in Lyndon’s Pasalubong
because even their product is food people tend to buy essential needs and foods

IV. PROPOSE OD INTERVENTIONS

If we were able to open a brick-and-mortar store we would open one in Angeles City,
Pampanga inside nepo quad, there are a lot of pasalubong items there and it will surely fit in,
there will be a lot of people coming and going through that area and that will surely boost
the business sales. Creating a brick and mortar store around angeles will boost our sales
because there are a lot of people who go to that location to look for food, they usually look
for merienda and other types of food. That location would help us grow our target market. It
would help us gain new customers and create a bigger demographic.
For the pandemic alternative I can create an app or tie up with online shopping
platforms like shopee and Lazada to be able to deliver directly to my customer’s houses.
Going online will not only help us sell more items but also be able to sell our products
nationwide, online shopping will help us reach customers that we are not able to reach
through our brick and mortar store. There are a lot of benefits by going online it will help us
be known by other locations and it will massively impact our sales.

V. CONCLUSION/Summary
Lyndon’s Pasalubong is one of the most known peanut retail business with 3
branches operating within Tarlac City, the main branch is located at Zamora st. Cut-cut 1st,
Tarlac City, 2nd branch is located at cut-cut 1st beside Magic Star Mall, and 3rd branch is
located at Sto. Domingo II, Capas Tarlac. Lyndon’s Pasalubong was established in year
2000 by Teodoro Y. Reyes and Jocelyn D. Reyes. The brand name Lyndon’s Pasalubong
was created by their name, Jocelyn and Mr. Reyes nickname, Don. Lyndon’s Pasalubong is a
family business started by Mr. Reyes’ parents and has been passed down through
Page

generations.
Lyndon’s Pasalubong

In the interview, Mr. Reyes tell us the story behind Lyndon’s Pasalubong, according
to him when they started the business, they rented a stall to sell their products. And as Mr.
Reyes explained it further, starting a business is not easy as we think it is. Lyndon’s
Pasalubong experienced ups and downs in their business and because of how their family
started it made them believe and risk it all for the sake of their living. It is risky but if you
have the passion and love with what you are doing, and the confidence to face obstacles in
the process, hard works really pays off in time. And during this pandemic they face the
biggest problem because of how half of their sales deflated. Pandemic made a huge impact in
Lyndon’s Pasalubong because even their product is food people tend to buy essential needs
and foods.

According to Mr. Reyes, the first thing that came to his mind in terms of advantage
for having an own business is that you are the own boss. But if you are an employee, you
need to fulfill all things that your boss says. Having your own business, you can do whatever
you want like when you are too lazy to do work or you want to relax sometimes, it’s okay
because you own the business. As you step forward with this opportunity, you get to be the
person who can make every decision, pulling all the strings. You have a great degree of
agency and control over what happens when you start your own company. You get to
establish of build a team, decide where the business is going, and call the shots.

Even though you can build your own schedule as an entrepreneur, that doesn't
inherently mean that there won't be long hours. But unlike those energy draining hours that
everyone else spends working overtime, it's going to be long hours spent working for
something you enjoy. And the benefits will be reaped by you. Being able to abandon the
boring and monotonous routine of a typical office job is one of the great benefits of
entrepreneurship. Rather, you prepare or plan and schedule your day, set daily targets and
work to accomplish them. Of course there will be unforeseen circumstances that you'll have
to deal with. Yet you get the added advantage of being more aware and understanding how
to live in the moment by learning how to navigate these situations.

This awareness goes with the territory when you have to rely on yourself and your
1

creativity in order to generate money. An entrepreneur must learn the ability to remain open
Page

and receptive to possible ideas and possibilities and train his or her mind. This doesn't mean
Lyndon’s Pasalubong

that in anything that comes their way, they get involved. The ability of discernment, which is
also of immense importance, must also be mastered. But whatever the case, being open to
several possibilities offers a huge amount of choice to entrepreneurs. Resolving issues is part
of what an entrepreneur does. They make things more effective, provide a better service or
produce a new product that helps individuals in their daily lives. Whatever it is that
entrepreneurs are trying to sell, life is meant to change, improve and turn a profit. The job
will be harder and longer than anything in your life that you can recall doing. During these
long days, the amount of enthusiasm you can feel is the fuel that keeps you moving. When
you wake up in the morning, you never really know what to expect. New problems to solve,
clients to visit, and ideas to explore are available.
