Non-headphone brands releasing their own take on true wireless buds has become so commonplace these days that you
need to be doing something truly remarkable to stand out. So what has elite gaming brand Razer done with its new
Hammerhead True Wireless Pro to so pique our curiosity? Is it its intuitive touch controls and remappable touch gestures?
Nope. Its snazzy gamer-baiting design? Hah, not quite. Advanced hybrid active noise cancellation, which packs two external
and two internal mics to serve up first-class sound nullification? Close but no cigar. Even the impressive total 20-hour
battery life offered with its case wasn’t what finally clinched it for us. No, what won us over was its THX-certified 20Hz –
20kHz frequency response, offering truly cinematic sound whether you’re gaming or streaming. Coupled with the above-
mentioned super-low latencies, this results in buds that place you right in the heart of the action.

Welcome
Editor’s letter
As we speak, a sigh is rolling across the whole world. Not
of satisfaction, resulting from a sustained binge of nuts,
nog and Netflix. Neither is it a sigh of wonder, as we
collectively soak ourselves in the next-gen graphics of
our newly acquired consoles. No, ’tis simply a sigh of
relief: 2020’s over.
Without a doubt, the year that was has been tough on us
all, with a life-altering pandemic, a once-in-a-generation shift
in working patterns and the high street changing, possibly
irrevocably. Closer to home, T3 recently lost long-time
contributor Adam Banks: not only will he be sorely missed,
our thoughts are with his family during this incredibly tough
time. 2020 is a year that will long linger in our memories.
However, as of 1 January, we’ll hopefully be entering a
brighter year. Not only should our most vulnerable loved
ones soon receive a vaccine (a real miracle, so please do
your bit and get yours as soon as it’s your turn) but it’s a
chance to start looking to the future once again. And
whether you’re looking for gadgets to relaunch your drive
for health and fitness, make your commute greener and
more joyful or just help you work and create better on the
go, T3’s here to support you.
Happy new year and here’s to a brighter 2021!

MacBook Air
MacBook Air
Apple’s brand new MacBook Air for late 2020 has instantly up-ended the laptop market, alongside the 13-inch
MacBook Pro, which got a similar refresh at the same time. They’re the first two MacBooks to come with Apple’s
own M1 chipset design, which potentially offers huge gains in terms of both the performance and the battery life
you can expect. While these laptops have only been on the market for a couple of weeks at the time of writing,
it looks as though that potential is going to be met – and as applications are updated to take advantage of the
redesigned silicon, the speed gains should be even greater. This MacBook Air is essentially a major step forward
in terms of components and architecture, for exactly the same price as the model it replaces.
In terms of the outward design of the laptop, hardly anything has changed from the previous Intel-based
incarnation. You get the same 13.3-inch high-resolution display, and the same lightweight, streamlined
construction – this tips the scales at a mere 1.29kg. Add in the slickness of the latest macOS Big Sur, and it’s the
ideal laptop for getting stuff done on the go.

Google Pixelbook Go
Google Pixelbook Go
With their stripped-down, low-maintenance, web-based operating system, Chromebooks aren’t for everyone
– but for some people, they’re going to be absolutely perfect. The Pixelbook Go is Google’s idea of what the best
possible Chromebook can look like, with a sharp 13.3-inch screen, a robust and solid casing (with textured
rubber grips underneath), and a choice of black or pink colours.
With no desktop programs to slow you down, you can get straight into the business of streaming music and
video from whatever website you like: Netflix, Disney Plus, Spotify, iPlayer, Apple Music or anything else. As an
added bonus, Chromebooks run Android apps too, so you can install the mobile versions of these streaming apps
and sync playlists and content for offline enjoyment too.
With a total of four different component configurations to choose from – going all the way up to an Intel Core i7
model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (probably a lot more than you’ll need) – you should be able to find
a Pixelbook Go to suit your needs and your budget. And once you’ve made your choice, let the streaming begin!
