Reciprocating single file system

Safe and simple technique

• Adequate canal preparation without excessive dentin removal
• Up to 85 % of cases can be prepared with a single file technique
• Because the file will do all the preparation a single use is recommended for each case (file be dull after preparing 4 canals)
At every other mm the file will have 2 point contact with
Waveone Gold canal then 1 point contact

1 contact give freedom

(more chip space)
to loosen debris

2 contact keep the file centered in the canal

Reverse helix; The file has semi-active guiding tip

Alternating offset contacts Keep the file more centered in the canal + reduce accumulation of debris
WAVEONE GOLD
• Primary WAVEONE GOLD file is
at least 80% more flexible,
• 50% more resistant to cyclic
fatigue,
• and 23% more efficient,
compared to the original
Primary WaveOne M-wire file
Unique movement

MODE OF ACTION: Reciprocation

Using unequal bidirectional angles the engaging angle is anti clock wise 150 and the disengaging angle is clockwise 30
after 3 cutting cycles the instruments will turn 360
Multi-files rotary system
Niti alloy
→ two more sizes + retreatment burs new

New file design and M-wire

New metal alloy gold wire
Protaper gold rotary → flexibility

1. Convex Triangular cross-section

safety, cutting action , tactile sense Lat contact F & D

2. Variable Helix Angle

flexibility & “carving” efficiency

3. Non-cutting Guiding tip.

4. Variable Taper of the cutting blades
5. Gold heat treated NiTi alloy

High torque is advised with this Niti rotrary system if low torque used more chance of fracture
PTG vs PTU
Shaper files
SX file exhibits nine (9) progressively
Shaper files with progressively increasingly tapers increasingly tapers between D1 and D9 & 1.1
designed to prepare the coronal one-third & mm diameter at D9
the middle one-third of a canal

D0 0.18 mm

D0 0.20 mm
Shaper files

Small short brushing stroke laterally on the outer wall away from the furcular danger area then follow deeper in the canal
Finisher files

Finisher files with greater taper at the apical 3mm the decreasing taper (regressive taper) this allow the instrument
to shape the apical part without further enlargement of the body
Regressive taper does not mean the file diameter is decreasing toward the handle.
There is still increasing in diameter but not a excessive.
Finisher files
This is in ideal world
Shaper slight apical cutting
Finishers slight body cutting

17/04, 25/06, 30/07, 40/06, and 50/06,

- Progressively percentage tapered design on a single file

- Offset mass of rotation
- M-Wire technology

Recommended speed is 300RPM with a torque from 4-5.2Ncm.

Electric motors to control the rpm and torque
pre-programmed settings for each system
Instruments’ sterilization
Sterilization and prion diseases
Prion diseases are a family of rare progressive neurodegenerative disorders that affect both
humans and animals.
Prion abnormal, pathogenic agents that are transmissible.
Human disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD)

Sterilization :does not destroy prions

disposible instrument (files and burs) to prevent cross infection

Sterilization and cutting efficiency?????

Race system : iRaCe
• Manufactured by FKG Dentaire
• Name stands for: Reaming with Alternating Cutting Edges
Race system
• Exclusive features:

1- Non-cutting Safety Tip → Perfect control of the instrument

2- Alternating cutting edges → no screwing, nor blocking effect
3- Sharp cutting edges > better penetration and debris evacuation
4- Electro-chemical surface treatment → better resistance to
torsion and metal fatigue, facilitates cleaning and sterilization
5- Safety Memo Disc (SMD) → to count number of uses which
guards against metal fatigue
Race system
• Cross section: triangular with sharp cutting edges

Safety Memo Disc (SMD) device:

Golden rules
• Speed : 600 rpm
> Long back-and-forth strokes
> Light touch, let the instrument work

• Torque : 1.5 Ncm

> Work 3-4 seconds in a row, get out
> Clean the blade and irrigate the canal
