Let’s Analyze.
Activity 4. In this part, you are once again required to elaborate your answer thoroughly on
the questions below:
1. How is technology a mode of revealing?
ANS:
Technology is an exposure method because it involves and demonstrates more
significance, veracity, and meaning. Heidegger contends that since technology reveals
so much more about the world and the human condition, it should be viewed as a
mode of revelation. Technology is a means of revealing the truth that is used to
accomplish objectives or generally make life easier for us. Technology is a means of
revealing because it is ingrained in the way we live, the things we do, and the
environment in which we are situated. Additionally, it gives us access to everything
we want to research while learning about and looking for the significance of truth.

2. Why should technology be questioned?

ANS:
-Therefore, questioning technology is meant to help us escape its bonds and achieve
freedom not by doing away with it altogether, but rather by gaining a deeper
comprehension of its purpose and meaning.
Explain why Heidegger manifest the calculative thinking towards meditative
thinking?
ANS:
-Heidegger encourages us to think meditatively rather than merely analytically. He
argues that this is a lost skill that is urgently required in a world where technology is
so pervasive that humanness and meaning are sacrificed to pragmatism.

Describe technology as a means to an end, and technology is a human activity.

ANS:
- The two descriptions of technology go hand in hand. Because it is a human activity
to posit ends and obtain and use the means to achieve them. Technology encompasses
all activities related to the creation and use of machinery, tools, and equipment as well
as the needs and purposes for which they are used.

In a Nutshell Activity 4.

Heidegger's questioning the technology brought a big realization on flourishing

technology, especially nowadays. All of us seem dependent on the presence of
technology. However, we cannot cover or hide the truth that there are ways already
that technology brought both positive and negative effects on humanity. In this
activity, you require to draw conclusions or write your perspectives about this matter.
Again, I will supply the first item, and you will continue the rest.

1. Flourishing of technology could be bad or good depends on the person using it.
Utilizing technology would be beneficial when there’s a demand for food, medicine,
especially if there's pandemic, etc. to survive. But when it is utilized to create
destruction to humanity and the environment, that’s when it became terrible. All
these, it depends on one's person's action in flourishing technology.

2. According to Heidegger, the greatest threat is represented by this modern

understanding of "being." First, there's the risk that people will see themselves as
nothing more than raw materials. But more importantly, there is no escape from the
technological will to power.

3. We would manipulate our manipulation, exercising power over our way of

exercising power, if we wanted to move toward a different understanding of what
being is. And this would only support the way that technology views being. Every
time we try to escape technology, it pulls us back in

4. For Heidegger, "the will not to will" is the only escape route. We must consider the
possibility of relying on technologies without becoming dependent on them and by
viewing them as expressions of a conceptualization of reality.

5. Technology represents a particular mode of world-revealing in which people exert

control over reality. As Heidegger explains by analyzing ancient texts and words, the
ancient Greeks understood the act of "making" something as "helping something to
come into being," whereas modern technology is more like "forcing into being." The
world is revealed by technology as a raw material that can be produced and altered.
