What is spectroradiometer?
A spectral radiometer is a light measurement tool that is able to measure
both the wavelength and amplitude of the light emitted from a light
source. Spectrometers discriminate the wavelength based on the position
the light hits at the detector array allowing the full spectrum to be
obtained with a single acquisition. Most spectrometers have a base
measurement of counts which is the un-calibrated reading and is thus
impacted by the sensitivity of the detector to each wavelength. By
applying a calibration, the spectrometer is then able to provide
measurements of spectral irradiance, spectral radiance and/or spectral
flux.
What is radiometer?
A radiometer is a device for measuring the radiant flux (power) of
electromagnetic radiation. Generally, a radiometer is an infrared
radiation detector or an ultraviolet detector. Microwave radiometers
operate in the microwave wavelengths.
What is the difference between spectroradiometer and radiometer?
Radiometers can be carried around and are portable, making them an
economical and practical option. This instrument can detect and
measure heat energy from surfaces and eliminate UV energy. One
sensor allows it to measure wavelengths quickly. However,
radiometers can’t identify wavelengths. There are many benefits to
spectroradiometers over cons. They are portable, accurate, and work as
standalone systems without a computer.
LISUN optical spectroradiometers can measure the spectral
characteristics of light radiation. LISUN offers a wide range of optical
spectroradiometers that can measure light radiation’s spectral
characteristics. There are many differences between radiometers,
spectrometers and spectroradiometers. On the other hand,
spectrometers are more precise and modular and offer many settings
and applications. Finally, spectroradiometers combine the best of both
worlds. They can be used in specific applications and offer accuracy
and portability.
What is spectral resolution?
Spectral resolution describes the ability of a sensor to define fine
wavelength intervals. The finer the spectral resolution, the narrower
the wavelength range for a particular channel or band.
Black and white film records wavelengths extending over much, or all of
the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. Its spectral
resolution is fairly coarse, as the various wavelengths of the visible
spectrum are not individually distinguished and the overall reflectance in
the entire visible portion is recorded. Colour film is also sensitive to the
reflected energy over the visible portion of the spectrum, but has higher
spectral resolution, as it is individually sensitive to the reflected energy
at the blue, green, and red wavelengths of the spectrum. Thus, it can
represent features of various colours based on their reflectance in each of
these distinct wavelength ranges.
What are the major manufactures of spectroradiometer?
