NARRATIVE REPORT ON ALIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021

The Department of Education is implementing the Madrasah Education Program, as a

response to the call for global commitment on Education for All. It is guided by the Roadmap for
Upgrading Muslim Basic Education. There are three major components under the Roadmap:
First, Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) in public schools, Second, Standard
Madrasah Curriculum in Private Madaris (Islamic educational institutions), and Third, Arabic
Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) for Muslim Out-of-School Youth and Adults.

In regard with this, Upper Sepaka Integrated School positively contribute to the peace
process and improvement of the quality of life of the Muslims through education and training,
programs for the Muslim learners.

The ALIVE subjects is taught from Kindergarten to Grade 3 pupils, including the values
unto children for them to be maka-Diyos (pro-God), maka-tao (pro-people), maka-kalikasan (pro-
nature), and maka-bayan (pro-country).

There are about 90% learners enrolled in kinders to grade 3 and all of them are required
to take up ALIVE subjects. The ALIVE teachers also conducted LAC sessions to instill the basic
knowledge to teachers not teaching the subjects, including the high school Ilonggo teachers. The
aim of this move is to familiarized the teachers to the basic core values of Muslim since they are
teaching in the area.

Program such as ALIVE Day is celebrated to maintain such traditions by letting th

tecahers and the learners wear traditional Muslim clothes and conducting singing activities and
dance that promotes their culture.

Such initiative spearheaded by the school head and ALIVE teachers helped the school to
be well connected to the the hearts of the learners and the community by respecting their values
and traditions.
