3 ARCHITECTURAL THESIS GOALS/ OBJECTIVES/ STRATEGIES


1.1.3.1 Architectural Thesis Goal

Goal I. ARCHITECTURAL

A. Objective 1: To reduce the target housing backlog by 80-100%, while also taking
the anticipated backlog over the following years into account.

Strategy 01: Conserving land for the future building for the projected backlog
in next year.
Conserving lands for future construction in order to address the anticipated
backlog over the next years.
Strategy 02: Having extra spaces and rooms to the building for the future
backlogs.

B. Objective 2: To develop and implement design standards that promote quality


residential development.

Strategy 01: Provide sufficient services and amenities to support the planned
population while preserving the neighborhood for those currently there.
Strategy 02: Develop and implement sustainable design standards in
public and private open space and street rights-of-way.
Strategy 03: Study some existing vertical housing to adapt some strategies and
solutions that can improve the environment of its occupants.

C. Objective 3: To incorporate passive cooling materials that can be use with the
design of the building structures.

Strategy 01: Research passive cooling systems, strategies and approaches to


adapt to local environmental conditions of the site.
Strategy 02: Analysis of materials to be used to improve cooling performance,
maximize efficiency, and integrate with building elements.

Goal II. SOCIO-ECONOMIC

A. Objective: To establish commercial spaces within the development that will offer
new businesses and employment opportunities to newly relocated families.

Strategy 01: Interview the affected families on what work they are capable of
and align with the development of spaces.
Strategy 02: Provide seminars and workshops for the relocated families.
Goal III. FUTURE-PROOFING AND FORWARD-THINKING

A. Objective: To provide a long-lasting and inclusive urban development.

Strategy 01: Implementation of vertical building design to accommodate more


residents and create more outdoor spaces.
Strategy 02: Focus on permanent housing solutions rather than more
temporary and unstable shelters.
Strategy 03: Proper space zoning, planning, and utilization of the building/s.
