It is a dynamic Christian and self-sustaining social welfare organization committed

who have not completed compulsory elementary education and also the family
workers like young.

advocates against child labor and other forms of child abuse.

Enable people to move around their neighborhood more safely, it increased


access for disabled people and enabled local businesses to to operate, bring
more income into the area. The child sponsorship programme has allowed
many families to continue to send their children to school.

The community-based programs aim to provide services to persons living in


poverty in Molo, Iloilo and San Joaquin and it covers services for older

St. Vincent’s Home, Inc. is a licensed Social Welfare Institution established on


september 19, 1960 to provide temporary shelter for neglected and
abandoned elderlies called St. Vincent’s Home for the Aged Ladies of Charity
(Damas de la Caridad). Since June 19, 1973, St. Vincent’s Home’s services
have been administered by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul.

Clientele/s : Elderly 65 years old and above, as well as the families, women
and children

ABOUT DSWD
● ON JUNE 2, 1978 THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE
AND DEVELOPMENT (DSWD) WAS RENAMED MINISTRY OF
SOCIAL SERVICES AND DEVELOPMENT (MSSD) IN LINE
WITH THE CHANGE IN THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT.
WHILE IN 1987, THE MSSD WAS RECOGNIZED AND
RENAMED THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND
DEVELOPMENT (DSWD) THROUGH THE EXECUTIVE
ORDER 123, WHICH WAS SIGNED BY PRESIDENT CORAZON
C. AQUINO.
