Project Details
1. General:
Tender in duplicate is required to cover the design, supply, shipping, Transport to site,
construction, erection, testing and commissioning of two diesel generator set on a
contract basis for extension to SADA power station. It includes 2x2.5 MW diesel
generating sets, medium speed (not exceeding 750 rpm) base load. Continues
operation diesel generating sets. Station transformer, switchgear, over head crane,
cabling, piping, all necessary civil works including site preparation design and
erection building services connection to all termination points, tests, commissioning
of the generator sets, 24,000 hrs spare parts. All material and services to operate to the
extended power plant in harmony with existing power system. Tenderer must submit
complete offer covering the whole project as set out in the specifications and should
consider that he can offer any advantage to the purchaser by a modification to the
specification he may draw attention to such by an attached document but should only
modify after approval of purchaser.
These generator sets should be capable to run in parallel with existing generator set,
“the existing power stations “.
The quoted tender price shall be for the supply of everything necessary whether it be
described or not, to leave the equipment complete and in working order at the
expiration of the guarantee period and in accordance with the provisions of the
contract. They shall include the cost of supervise staff and all other overhead charges.
The tenderer shall be deemed to have visited the site and to have collected all
information required for tendering purposes.
In the following speciation the engineer is the purchaser or an engineer appointed by
the purchaser.
Bidders should provide all details according tender documents any offers not
complain with tender document requirement will reject .

1.1. Extent of Contract:


This is a fixed price contract covering the complete works required for the design, manufacture,
inspection and works testing, insurance, export, packing. Transport to site, unloading, custom
duty, all takes complete erection. Site testing, setting to work, finishing, painting staf training
and guarantee for period of twelve calendar months of all the foundation. building Plant and
equipment necessary for the safe and efficient operation of a diesel engine generator sets in
parallel with existing set generally as described in the specifications and including but not
limited to.
- 2x2. 5 MW 11KV Diesel alternator sets and all auxiliaries.
- 11 KV Neutral Earthling Equipment.
- 11 KV Switchgear, Control and Metering Equipments for gensets.

- 11 KV Switchgears as outgoing feeders and connection with existing system . bus coupler and
station transformers.
- 400 V Switchgear.
- Cabling and Earthling.

- All spare parts consumed for operation, maintenance and repairing through periodic interval
to 24000 operating hour .

This contract also provides for all parts of the works to be completed in every respect for
commercial operation to the agreed programme and to the requirements and satisfaction of the
engineer. Not withstanding that any details, accessories…… etc. required for the complete
installation and satisfactory operation of the plant are not specifically mentioned in the
specification nor indicated in specification drawings. such details are to be considered as being
included in the contract price.
Any material or works which not specified/included in bid specification but required for safe
and reliable operation of the plant shall be deemed to be included in work and contractor shall
be carry out such material or works at no extra cost to the PEC.
The civil works in the contract will comprise all civil works required on the site, for extension,
including power house, switch gear, control room and it is connection to existing system.

1.2. Program Of Work


Within one month of the start of the contract the contractor shall forward to the
engineer for his comment or approval, four copies of a program detailing the plant
manufacture, delivery and erection periods for all items in the complete contract
work. After modification as necessary copies of the approved program as required by
the engineer shall be provided by the contractor.
The program shall indicate the various phases of work for all items of the contract
from the commencement of the contract to its final completion, e.g. design, ordering
of materials, manufacture, shipping, local transport, erection and commissioning.
If at any time during the execution of the contract it is found necessary to modify the
approved program, the contractor shall inform the purchaser and submit a modified
program for approval.
Such approval shall not be deemed to be consent to any amendment of the completion
dates in the schedule.
Then these may be added to the programmed. The contract completion dates are
defined as the dates on which the complete generating set is handed over for the
commercial service. The contract completion dates for all other works are the dates on
which the last items of building , plant or equipment are finally handed over to the
purchaser.
1.3. SITE AMBIENT CONDITION CLIMATE:
The climate is dry and tropical with fairly wide temperature
variation throughout the year.
Shade temperatures being as follows: -
- Highest maximum ambient, 45Cº.
- Highest monthly mean daily maximum ambient, 45Cº.
- Lowest monthly mean daily minimum ambient, 16 Cº
- Lowest minimum ambient 0Cº.
- Design temp. 45 Cº
The mean relative humidity ranges from 60 to 30%.
Annual rainfall is moderate falls for a few months per year mainly during the
monsoon period when torrential downpours of up to 60 mm can fall in one day
causing flash flooding. There are occasional electrical storms.
There are occasional strong dust storms. The site altitude is 1650 meters.

1.4. STAFF TRAINING:


The purchaser requires that four of his engineers/ technicians be given a course of
training for a period of three weeks at manufacturers' works.
All charges visa arrangement, accommodation full board, return air fares and
expenses are integral part of contract.
