REACTION PAPER

The video shows the advocate of NPA members and the former members of NPA. Each
of them has beliefs that they stand for. This video contains the realizations of the former
NPA members, which gives us the clarification that being a NPA is not really a good
idea.

I have learned that we, the youth should not be tricked by false ideologists of leftist
organizations, many of which have links to the Communist Party of the Philippines –
New People’s Army through invitations to join their groups. This will only mislead us to
the wrong path. I strongly condemn in this idea in which the youth are mostly being
tricked to join this organization which against the government. It’s disappointed to
discover that certain issues continue to deceive the youth, leading them to believe in a
distorted system created by the people who is greedy of the power. I’m proud of these
former NPA members who recognized the correct direction to take and now regret their
decisions to oppose the government. The fact that they have chosen the right path and
are encouraging young people not to believe in the NPA’s deceptive tactics is a huge
help to us. Everyone will benefit from the lessons they’ve learned.

Overall, I’ve realized that we need to ground ourselves in facts. Change will occur as
soon as we begin it with ourselves, rather than by intimidation or battle against the
government. To address this problem, the government and stakeholders must work
together to eliminate the recruitment process. I believe that we are all educated enough
to know what is right and wrong, and that joining these organizations would lead us
down the wrong path.
