W języku angielskim rozróżniamy trzy stopnie intensywności przymiotnika:

równy (positive)

wyższy (comparative)

Przymiotniki angielskie, których się nie stopniuje

Istnieją przymiotniki, których w ogóle nie da się stopniować, ponieważ mówią o

cechach, które nie podlegają stopniowaniu. Są to przymiotniki opisujące skrajne
cechy (extremes np. freezing), stany absolutne (absolutes (np. dead) oraz
przymiotniki klasyfikujące (classifying np. nuclear).
