Christian Greetings!

The College of Hospitality Management - Student Council will be conducting the "Food Art Competition:
Asian Destination” This will be on December 4, 2021, 1:00 P.M. This is to be participated by interested
second year at the college. The mechanics will be posted in the Student Council Official Facebook Page while
announcement of winners will also be done in the same manner.

The objective of this activity is to enhance students’ skills in food art and plating as they present their
masterpieces in their own ways and styles. Also, this will serve as an avenue for them to apply their learnings in
their various courses.

We are in great anticipation of your favorable response regarding this matter. Attached herewith is the
mechanics of the aforementioned activity.

Food Art: ASEAN Destinations


Mechanics and Guidelines:

1. This activity is open to all Second year BSHM students currently taking up Kitchen
Essentials. This activity shall showcase the creativity and resourcefulness in making a food
art.
2. There should be two entries per section.
3. Registration will be on December 01, 2021 to December 02, 2021, using google-form.
Section representative will pick from a preselected list of ASEAN destinations.
4. Participants will make a replica of the chosen destination using the dried and uncooked food
items such as pasta (ex. macaroni, elbow, fettuccine), beans (ex. mongo, kidney etc.), grains
(ex. rice, oatmeal) nuts (ex. cashew, peanut), dried corn kernel, dried gulaman, dried spices
and herbs and other food items which are not highly perishable.
Note: Fruit and vegetables are not allowed.
5. Participants may also use Popsicle sticks, toothpicks, barbeque sticks, and chicken wire as
framework but not as main material of their replica.
6. Using paint or any coloring materials such as water color is prohibited. Natural color of the
chosen food materials will serve as its color or design. (ex. Use rice for white color and
mongo for green)
7. The base for the entry will be a platter glass with a measurement of 12” x 18”. And has
maximum height 24 inches per entry. Using backdrop is also prohibited.
8. Participants will submit his/her entry and a short description of it via email:

9. Deadline of submission will be on December 03 1, 2021, at exactly 5:00 P.M.
10. All entries will be posted on COLLEGE OF HOSPITALITY-STUDENT COUNCIL FB
PAGE on December 4, 2021, for judging.
11. Failure to comply with the mechanics will automatically disqualification.
12. Competition outputs are automatically property of College of Hospitality-Student Council
and has the right to post or display. Proper credits shall be given to the owner after judging.
13. Posting of the winners will be on December 5, 2021, at 6:00 P.M.

15. The decision of the judges is deemed final and should be respected by the participating
sections.
16. The winners will be declared as: Champion, First Place and Second Place respectively.
17. Winners will receive a Certificate and Load Allowance

Creativity and Resourcefulness 25%

Craftsmanship (Technique & Difficulty) 25%

Overall presentation 20%
