Module 2: Forum 1

When it comes to learning, assessment is an unavoidable necessity, as it plays a crucial

role in the student's educational development. The two movies I've viewed in this
module help us visualize two distinct approaches or techniques that may be employed.
The first video discusses the traditional methods of teaching and educating pupils, while
the second concerns the current, or more contemporary, the process of transferring
knowledge from instructor to student. Traditional learning paradigms instruct students to
acquire knowledge by memorizing and recitation without strengthening their critical
thinking, problem-solving, or decision-making abilities.
Teachers conduct the evaluation process and are responsible for assigning tasks
relating to their students' learning objectives. Since teachers tend to focus more on
assessment activities, learners may not learn better due to this strategy. Teachers do
not focus on the student's talents, and, as a result, their abilities will not be adequately
developed. In light of this, teachers need to be able to devise strategies that will enrich
their students' educational experiences. Due to the possibility that this strategy will not
work for every student, teachers should determine the desired outcomes, assign
students tasks that will help them achieve these objectives, and administer
assessments to ensure that students are gaining the appropriate skills.
