The Department of Education (DepEd) is continuously putting efforts
into launching and developing a series of programs, projects, and frameworks to guide all schools in the country. This is to address learning gaps, needs, challenges, and concerns of the teaching-learning process to ensure that quality education is met in all aspects according to the standards of the Department. As many schools open doors to physical learning, the Department programs are being monitored as part of the post-pandemic efforts. This annual accomplishment report compilation is purposely gathered to assess the different programs and to look into the interventions formulated to solve the problems met. This way, teachers, administrators, as well as learners can catch up and accelerate their learning. Moreover, this report also aims to highlight the different accomplishments of each school in CY 2022. So far, different proposals of strategies and recovery programs are anchored to learning remediation and intervention, professional development, health, safety, and wellness to reinforce the teaching and learning process. Also, to remedy some of the existing problems in schools, the district has identified practical solutions such as the provision of learning support centers in schools and community-based learning spaces, conducting summer learning remediation and intervention programs, hiring additional learning support aides, and many more. Furthermore, Tukuran West District together with its administrators and teaching force plan to intensify its efforts primarily on literacy and numeracy interventions to let learners cope with the learning difficulties that the pandemic has brought to them. Schools in the district have conducted regular home visits and follow-ups, implemented physical and virtual study groups/buddy systems, establish literacy at home and in the community, tap the services of parent or guardian teacher-volunteers, and develop appropriate assessment tasks and resources and conduct career guidance assessments to students. Schools have to learn action cell sessions, adaptive teaching strategies, and classroom assessments, and a shift from the traditional approach to tailored acceleration is being eyed for the professional development of teachers. Part of the educational framework is the concept of addressing the socio-emotional and behavioral recovery of learners. The Oplan Kalusugan and SBFP programs are strengthened. In addition, several programs that focus on child protection are launched to further uphold the welfare of all learners. Finally, for CY 2022, the Tukuran West District has accomplished 100% of the identified programs set by the Division of Zamboanga del Sur. There were short strategies/interventions were conducted. For the CY 2023, it is expected the district, along with the Division of Zamboanga del Sur will cover the building on learning and longer-term improvements will be implemented. This is to target many other educational objectives where long- term sustainable gains will be accelerated and innovated.
