I am an energetic and creative professional having 28 years of diversified experience in
the field of Site Planning, Construction and Project Management with NGOs, INGOs and
UN. I have worked on Solid Waste Disposal, Water and Sanitation, Rural Development
projects. I have also been involved in the relief and rehabilitation efforts of the
international community (after Pakistan’s Earth quake of 8th October,2005).I have
worked on Power Generation Project as well as on the construction of Schools, Hospitals
and other Buildings as per NES PAK/ERRA’s approved drawings and Design. I also
worked with UNHCR Pakistan as Senior Field Associate (Engineer) and Infrastructure
Officer. I have also worked (Four years Oct, 2013 to Dec, 2017) with UNHCR as

Site Planning Tasks

1. Assess and confirm feasibility of setting up camps for refugees in accordance with
international recognised criteria of accessibility, security, water resources and
type of terrain. Assess potential expansion of existing camps/site as needed.
2. Work in close coordination with relevant government counterpart and host
communities to ensure that technical factors related to natural resources, local law
issues, protection of environment, land property issues and local communities
land use are included in any assessment.

Shelter Coordination Tasks:


1. Develop, implement and review the agreed Shelter Strategy with support and
inputs from partners.
2. Lead UNHCR and partners in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the
Shelter Strategy
3. Facilitate the appropriate distribution of responsibilities amongst shelter partners.
4. Act as focal point for inquiries on the Shelter Sector response plans and
operations.
5. Ensure use of participatory and community based approaches in the planning and
implementation of projects, ensuring that humanitarian responses build on local
capacity.
6. Contribute to the development of appropriate strategies to address cross-cutting
issues in sectoral needs assessment, analysis, planning, monitoring and response.

shelter needs assessments.
3. Ensure the agreed Shelter Strategy is used as the framework for shelter activities.

C Assessment and Monitoring


1. Assess, monitor and evaluate activities of the Shelter Sector and revise strategies
and action plans accordingly in the light of needs as they are identified.

E Reporting and Information


1. Ensure adequate reporting and information sharing within the Shelter Sector and
other sectors and relevant inter-agency coordination bodies; collect 4W
(Who/What/When/Where) information from partners and provide information and
regular updates to all relevant partners;
2. Provide regular inputs to general reports including Situation Reports, Bulletins,
and other relevant information.

Civil Engineering (Water/Sanitation and Infrastructure tasks:


1. Development and implementation of UNHCR programs through analysis of
budgetary implications of technical inputs. Provide cost estimations of technical
activities, including development of bill of quantities for construction of
infrastructure and other works.
2. Work with Program Unit and partners in the planning, implementation and
monitoring of camp and host community infrastructure projects which included
Water, Solid Waste Disposal, Sanitation, Health and Education facilities.
3. Provide technical advice and support on the planning / design, implementation
and monitoring of permanent facilities/infrastructure projects including regular
on-site monitoring and progress reviews to maintain oversight and quality control
on performance and ensure that projects are executed according to work plans and
specifications
4. Conduct site assessment, technical review of Water, Sanitation and Solid Waste
projects and provide guidance on new and existing infrastructure projects taking
into account UNHCR policies and priorities, including designs, technical
specifications, bills of quantities (BOQs), work schedules, etc.
