SAFE OPERATION
Before using this combine, be sure to read and understand this "Operator's Manual" carefully so that work can be
done safely. The following are the precautions that must be taken for safe work. In addition, this manual gives
the precautions under " DANGER", " WARNING", " CAUTION", "IMPORTANT" and "NOTE" as necessary.
C Before Operation
C Operation Instructions
A Do not operate the combine with the covers for the belts,
chains, cleaning port and inspection port removed.
Replace the fuel hose, radiator hose and the oil drain
hose every two years.
C Transport Instructions
A Bridge requirements
Length More than 4 times the height of truck bed
Width 55 cm or more
Quantity 1 pair
Strength Each bridge must withstand 2800 kg or more.
A Set the range gear shift lever to any other position than
[N] (neutral) and apply the parking brake.
A Put the rope on [Designated Rope Hooks (3 pcs.) and
Frame] to fix the combine on the floor.
A Use a wooden block to stop the combine securely.

If you reap any crop wet with rain or morning dew, reaper

sorting plate inside the thresher, disabling normal
threshing. Only perform the reaping operation when crop
is dry.

position or [H] (High speed) position. (See page 8.)
3. Perform the reaping operation counterclockwise. A If the reaper section (auger drum and/or feeder

In this case, slow down the reaping speed slightly.
C How to operate under adverse conditions
When you are forced to harvest crops with high moisture
content or immature crops with still green stalks, apply the

concave and the feeder inside regularly for clog or crop
deposits. Clean them as required.

When performing the reaping operation in a wet field, carefully check the crop conditions (inclination angle, etc.) and field
conditions (mud, ups and downs, etc.). In the event of trouble, take measures as shown in the following table.
Problem Measures
The combine slips. Perform reaping operation at low speed.
The combine sinks and gets Avoid making many turns on the same spot.
stuck. Do not make a snap turn.
The combine tilts. (Operate the power steering lever inch by inch and take a large turn.)
Do not make a sudden start.
In an area where water is pooled or deep, such as a water intake, reduce the combine
weight before reaping.
(Take grains out of the grain hopper.)
The reaper section is clogged. Apply proper reaping method suitable for the crop and field.
(See pages 33, 34 and 52.)
Inclined crops should be reaped slowly. (When harvesting long stalk crops with
reverse reaping, in particular, ear tips are apt to be raked into the reaper section
before the crops are reaped, making it easier to obstruct the reaper section.)
Remove straws or mud. (Feeder entrance or feeder conveyor sections)
Slow down the reaping speed.
Perform skip-reaping. (Control the volume of crops to be reaped.)
A If the combine fails to travel or gets stuck in a wet field, do not take the following operation and measures. This is
because otherwise the combine itself may get in trouble or the crawlers may get damaged.
Do not try the main gear shift lever for 10 seconds or longer at the forward and backward positions as well. Do not
move the lever repeatedly forward and backward, either. (Moving this lever damages the hydrostatic transmission
and fails to drive the combine.)
<1> Combine <A> Failure to travel <1> Main gear shift lever <A> Do not move the lever for
<2> Field 10 seconds or longer
Do not put round or square bars under the crawlers in an attempt to move. (This may damage the crawler.)
46 HARVESTING
If the combine gets stuck in a wet field, be sure to call for a tow car to pull the combine out of it.
To get the combine out of the wet field, apply wires or the like to the rope hooks (See page 31.) or the tow hook at
the back of the combine and pull out the combine slowly using a wreck vehicle, such as heavy-duty machine. When
using a wreck vehicle, drive the vehicle straight with the combine. Zigzagging or the like may get the rope hooks or
the tow hook on the combine damaged, thereby failing to pull out the combine.
<1> Tow hook <A> Pull out <1> Rope hook <A> Pull out
<2> Combine <2> Combine
<3> Wires or the like <3> Wires or the like
If it is impossible to pull out the combine with a wreck vehicle as it is, use non-skid bridges or the like to put the
combine in a pull-out position. Remember to remove all mud off the crawlers beforehand, because otherwise the
crawlers may skid, failing to tow the combine.

slippery when they are wet. Be careful in
getting on and off the auxiliary deck.
During the reaping operation, two more co-
workers at most are allowed to get on the
auxiliary deck.
Nobody should be on the auxiliary deck after
the combine goes out of a field and travels.
A To discharge grains, park the combine on a flat
place. Set the threshing clutch lever and the
reaping clutch lever to the [OFF] position.

156 COMBINE TROUBLESHOOTING
Even if the engine room side cover and the dust-proof net
of the radiator have been cleaned up, the coolant
temperature alarm indicator may light up and the warning
buzzer may start sounding. In such case, stop the
operation and the combine. Now clean up the engine
room side cover's dust-proof net and the radiator itself.
(See page 113 for cleaning the engine room side cover's
dust-proof net.)
It is also advisable to clean up the radiator after the
reaping season and keep it clean for the next season.
4. With the radiator off the combine, remove the bolts and 5. Before cleaning the radiator, wrap plastic tape or the
