Part 1: Writing
Answer to the Question No: 01

There are conflicting views about whether people should accept a bad
situation or make efforts to improve it.

Some people who insist that bad situation should accepted because they
have no courage to change their life , ex-people stick to job from which
they are not satisfy are afraid to quit because they are afraid of the
uncertain future. They are worried and have a fear that they might be
able to struggle for better future and will not be able to pay future bills if
they become jobless, that person accept the situation without making
any efforts.

On the other hand, there are certain situations that can improve if we
make an effort. Some people who believe in making efforts. For ex-
quitting a bad job when better jobs are available and yes it requires
learning new skills and gaining knowledge but it worth’s . One should
always find the opportunities that will make him learn and grow. Thus,
if a person is ready to make a change in his lifestyle, he can definitely
improve the bad situations.
Therefore in my opinion, people must try to improve the bad situation
and get out of it with courage and must ready to learn new things
without hesitation.

Answer to the Question No: 02

Country Food/Drink/Tobacco Clothing/Footwear Leisure/Education

Ireland 28.91% 6.43% 2.21%
Italy 16.36% 9.00% 3.20%
Spain 18.80% 6.51% 1.98%
Sweden 15.77% 5.40% 3.22%
Turkey 32.14% 6.63% 4.35%

The table shows percentages of consumer expenditure for three

categories of products and services in five countries in 2002.

It is clear that the largest proportion of consumer spending in each

country went on food, drinks and tobacco. On the other hand, the
leisure/education category has the lowest percentages in the table.

Out of the five countries, consumer spending on food, drinks and

tobacco was noticeably higher in Turkey, at 32.14%, and Ireland, at
nearly 29%. The proportion of spending on leisure and education was
also highest in Turkey, at 4.35%, while expenditure on clothing and
footwear was significantly higher in Italy, at 9%, than in any of the other
countries.

It can be seen that Sweden had the lowest percentages of national

consumer expenditure for food/drinks/tobacco and for
clothing/footwear, at nearly 16% and just over 5% respectively. Spain
had slightly higher figures for these categories, but the lowest figure for
leisure/education, at only 1.98%.
