Details
This Technical Publication is to inform the field of an update to the DC Controller PCB in order to
prevent Black Copies with a Halo Image Copy quality problem. The Electrical Noise caused by the
equipment can cause the DC Controller PCB Assembly to malfunction.
When copying or printing from either the Right Deck, Cassette 3 or Cassette 4 paper sources,
electrical noise can be generated from the paper feed assemblies of these three (3) paper sources. The
signal produced by this type of electrical noise can cause components on the DC Controller PCB to
malfunction in such a way as to produce an intermittent Black Copy with a Halo Image (See Figure 1)

Image Samples
Canon Canada Inc. has implemented an engineering change to the DC Controller PCB used in the
imageRUNNER 7105, imageRUNNER 7095 and imageRUNNER 7086 models. Please see the last
page of this Technical Publication for the affected serial numbers and cut for the running change.
The engineering change involves the installation of three capacitors which resolves the intermittent
black copy image and halo problem that you may experience. Not all serial numbers in the affected
population will experience this symptom. However, if you should encounter this on an affected
product, installation of an updated DC Controller PCB will be required.
