Kosmas Releases New Polling Showing

Tied Race
Voters Responding to Kosmas’ Focus on
Priorities
NEW SYMRNA BEACH – Building on the momentum from her decisive
primary win, small businesswoman Suzanne Kosmas released polling
today showing that she has pulled even with incumbent Tom Feeney in
the race for Florida’s 24th Congressional District.

In the new poll conducted by Hamilton Campaigns, Kosmas has moved

into a statistical tie with Tom Feeney (42% Kosmas - 43% Feeney - 1%
Gaurav Bhola). The poll, conducted September 11-14, demonstrates
significant movement by Kosmas who trailed Feeney by 14 points in
May, and makes is clear that Kosmas’ message of standing up for the
priorities of the district is resonating with voters. Feeney also has a net
negative job approval rating, with 38% of voters having an unfavorable
opinion of the way Feeney is representing them in Congress.

“People across the district are clearly connecting with Suzanne

Kosmas, because they know that they can trust her and that she
shares their priorities,” said Kosmas campaign manager Paul Dunn.
“Whether it’s creating good, high paying jobs, lowering gas prices,
taking care of our veterans, or ending the reckless spending – people
want change in Washington and a change from Tom Feeney.”

Hamilton Campaign’s Key Findings:

Democrat Suzanne Kosmas is tied with incumbent Republican

Tom Feeney in the race for Florida’s 24th Congressional
District (42% Kosmas – 43% Feeney – 1% Gaurav Bhola – 14%
undecided). In May, prior to her Democratic primary victory and her
introduction to general election voters, Kosmas trailed Feeney by -14
percentage points (37% Kosmas – 51% Feeney – 12% undecided).
Today, after voters have been introduced to her message of changing
to the right priorities, Kosmas is poised to take the lead in the race.

Tom Feeney’s job rating is more negative than it was in May

polling. Voters are now more split in their opinion on the job
performance of Congressman Feeney (now: 37% positive – 38%
negative – 25% no opinion; May: 43% positive – 36% negative – 21%
no opinion). Incumbent Tom Feeney’s personal opinion rating (+7
percentage point net positive) is in even worse shape than his job
rating (now: 41% favorable – 35% unfavorable – 24% cannot rate; May:
53% favorable – 30% unfavorable – 18% cannot rate).

Bottomline
Tom Feeney is one of the most vulnerable incumbents in the U.S.
Congress. Feeney’s image is weak and voters view him more
negatively today than in May. Suzanne Kosmas is mounting a strong
campaign by laying out her priorities, which are resonating with the
voters. Her priorities are a stark contrast to Tom Feeney’s failures
including record national debt, ethics violations, and lack of concern for
veterans. Since Kosmas entered the race in October 2007 she has out
fundraised Tom Feeney.
