What is Society?
A group of people living together with
shared customs, laws, and organizations
Origins of Sociology
THEOLOGICAL STAGE
People attribute the different occurrences in
nature to the Divine power

METAPHYSICAL STAGE
Attributes the changes and occurrences of nature to
a divinely-ordained natural order of things

POSITIVIST STAGE
Uses scientific method in analyzing experiences
in nature to come up with a rational explanation
