Name: Sebastian Date: October 20 Level: Approximately A2, maybe some B1 students
Action points – (These are two things you are working on in your teaching)
1. Keep Encounter Clarify stage short so there is enough time for RI and F
2. Use topics from Compact Key for School Students (Cambridge Text book)
When/How in the lesson will I check students’ progress toward the above Learning
Objective? What behaviors/activities will show me whether they have mastered the
material?
I will ask concept checking questions during the lesson
When Ss type in the chat box or speak in the meeting. I will see if they are understanding
I will monitor breakout groups during the lesson to see if they met the objective.
Preliminary considerations:
a. What vocabulary/grammar/information/skills do your students already know in relation to
today’s lesson?
I think that Ss already know common vocabulary related to some adjectives, and the structure of have got or has got
I think they will be familiar with filling out worksheets and matching exercises.
b. What aspects of the lesson do you anticipate your students might find challenging/difficult?
I think Zoom may be unfamilar, and working in breakout groups independently will be very unfamiliar.
c. How will you avoid and/or address these problem areas in your lesson?
Demonstrate what to do in breakout rooms, and then use CCQ "What does he/she look like?" and use body language
so they can identify it correctly and remind to turn mics and cameras on. Provide familiar written activities that lead
up to the speaking activities so Ss have some ideas and confidence.
