LABORATORY: PRELIM

ACTIVITY 4 – Radiographic Tracing and Landmarks

Name: SECUNDO, SOFIA R. Date: 09/10/2021

Section: R4A

Objective of the activity: To discuss the concepts of the incidence and recognition
of malocclusion.

Instruction: Draw and identify different classification of malocclusion. Provide a

brief explanation of each classification.
OPG Tracing:

In your panoramic radiograph, trace the following landmarks:

● Maxillary sinus ● Alveolar bone

● Nasal septum ● Periapical tissue
● Mandibular condyles
● Tooth structure

Write down your findings seen in your panoramic radiograph:

● Stage of dental development

● Missing, impacted, drifted, carious, or supernumeraries teeth
● Root shape
● Alveolar bone level
● Periapical condition
Panoramic Radiograph interpretation/findings:

1. Tooth # 28 is a class III, no sufficient space for the third molar, position C, highest
portion of the tooth is below the cervical line, vertical with nerve encroachment and
complete bony impaction.

2. Tooth # 18 is missing

3. Tooth # 38 and # 48 has only minimal space for the accommodation of the
mesiodistal diameter of the crown of third molar, meaning those molar are in class II.
position C, where we can observed that the highest portion of the tooth is below the
cervical line. mesioangular, tilted or angulated mesially and with nerve encroachment
and complete bony impaction.

4. Tooth # 15, #16, #17, #24, #25, #26, #27, #34 #,35, #36, #46 and #47 have caries.

5. Crown formation of tooth number 28, 38, 48

6. Restoration on tooth number 16, 26, 36, 46

7. Lesion in apex tooth # 11, # 31
