(See Figure 1.) Renove the existing battery and battery shelf structure as follows: A. Renove the battery fron the battery shelf, refer to Chapter 24 of the Maintenance Manual. 8, (See Figure 1, DetaiT A.) Or{1T out rivets, renove and discard the existing battery shelf from airplane. Plug all open holes. 1D. Apply a primer coat of fuel and corrosion resistant epoxy primer to the doubler and filler before installing. Refer to Chapter 61 of the Structural Repair Manual . E, Install the doubler and filler using NASIO97AD4 Rivets. F. Mark the location of the new 6515303-18 Doubler on the stringers and tailcone skin. 6. Remove the rivets fron the stringer and skin from the area where the new doubler is being installed. H. Locate the new doubler; then, using existing holes, back dri11 doubler attach holes. I. Temporarily secure doubler to stringer and skin with clecos, then locate and drf11 the re- maining doubler attach holes. J. With doubler stiT1 attached, Tocate and cut hole through tafleone skin for ACM duct. K, Remove doubler, clean area then instal doubler using NASIOS7ADE Rivets. LL. Instatl the £51020 Gromet retained in Step 4.4. around the ACM duct. M. Install the new 6515314-1 AON duct, secure using existing hardware retained in Step 4.A. N. Adjust the position of the duct in the ACM duct opening, (Refer to Chapter 21 of the Naintenance Manual.) (See Figure 4.) Locate and install the new battery shelf structure between fuselage station 414.50 and 428.50. (See Figure 2.) Install the 6514450-68 and 6514450-66 Tube Assemblies in place of the 6514450-6 and 6514450-4 Tube Assemblies renoved earlier. Route and clamp as shown. (See Figure 5.) Install Battery Disconnect Relay. A, (See Detail A.) Locate and renove rivets marked from stringer and taflcone skin in area where 6538316-3 Bracket Assembly is being installed. B, Position 6538316-3 Bracket Assembly on stringers, then using holes in stringer and skin as a guide, back drill bracket assembly attach holes. C. Temporarily attach 6536316-3 Bracket Assembly to stringer and skin with clecos, then locate and éri11 remaining bracket assenbly attach holes. D. Remove the 6538316-3 Bracket Assembly. Clean the paint from the stringer and bracket assembly mating surfaces, Use #320 or finer wet or dry sandpaper or aluminum wool to renove the non- conductive coating from the mating surfaces. No E, Apply @ brush coat of Iridite 14-2 to the stringer and bracket assembly. Refer to Chapter 51 of the Maintenance Manual. Stop cleaning as soon as nonconductive coating is removed, F, -Secure the 6538316-3 Bracket Assenbly to the stringer with applicable NASIO97AD4 Rivets. G. Instal) the AB76K Relay (renoved earlier) on the bracket assembly with four (4) ¥S27039-1-05 Screws. (See Figures 6 and 7.) Battery Wire Routing and Clamping. A, Install tie strap anchor plates at F.S. 414.50, Space the anchor plates between stringers. B, Route the 6508010-22 ané 6508010-23 Cable Assemblies as shown, Reinstall the BD16-1 Connector. Secure with clamps as shown. C. Route the battery tenperature sensors wiring D. Route battery relay wiring. Perform an operational check, by performing a battery start. After start check battery ground connection for "No" overheating, and also check the "BATT O'HEAT" light in the annunctator panel for proper operation. NOTES: If, the optional battery temperature indicator is installed, check for proper operation. Check the resistance of the battery ground points. Maximun allowable resistance of 0.0025 Ohms. 12. Replace all items removed to accomplish this bulletin. NOTE: Engine covers are to be stowed in the aft baggage compartment.
