ACADEMIC PROJECT: EMBEDDED BASED FLOOD MONITORING AND WARNING SYSTEM USING GSM The project is an attempt to provide a solution to enhance the safety of the living things around the area against flood water. It is therefore important to examine the issue of monitoring the flood water levels at lakes, bridges, etc and giving the real time information to the concerned, so as to initiate an immediate action based on the warning. Our project provide periodic information regarding water level and at emergency period such as heavy rain and flood. In this project, we have a pressure sensor which measure the water level is then converted into digital value using ADC. This ADC output is given to microcontroller. The result is processed and sends to base station or sms via GSM receiver and transmitter. During flood condition the information is send directly to the people in that locality. Thus timely evacuation takes place which reduces causality.
