ACTIVITY 1

Changes in Solid Materials

Objective:

Describe changes in solid materials when they are bent, pressed, hammered or cut.

Materials:

Bond paper, wooden stick, plastic cup, rubber band, drinking straw, electric wire ( 10
inches long, cloth, soft plastic ruler, 1 piece of banana, empty tin can, small block of wood

Procedure:

1. Using the given materials, fill in the table below ( by putting a check / mark on
the column or space) to identify ways of changing the solid material/s.
2. Fill in each column to describe the change/s that occurred in the material.
