EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Here in the Philippines, more schools are offering courses regarding automotive repair and paint
services. Also, TESDA offers free vocational courses on auto detailing for those who are willing
to be trained in a short period of time and be equipped to do the job. This provides quality
education to generate knowledge and skills in automotive services.

HEALTH CONSCIOUSNESS
As health protocols became stricter these previous years because of the pandemic, the
Department of Health (DOH) recommended people use private vehicles to minimize their
exposure to crowded places. On train transportation in 2020, DOH only allows an average of
about 375 passengers per train, which is 30% of the overall capacity per train set. They also
have roving marshals who remind the passengers of the health protocols such as proper use of
face masks to ensure safe distancing, no talking and eating policy, and other minimum public
health standards mandated by DOH. With this, commuters find using public transportation more
inconvenient because of stricter health protocols which made them do alternative options.

SOCIAL CLASSES
According to Philippine Statistics Office, the percentage of poverty has increased by 2.6 percent
from 2018 to 2021. While the population of the middle class has decreased because of the
pandemic, as more of them lost their job or have lessened their salaries. Consequently, more
middle-class people have degraded to the lower class which indicates that many Filipinos are
experiencing financial shortages.
