How to have a conversation

Is conversation dying out because of messaging, emails and

texting? A reporter enrolled into a class to find out exactly this.
There, people complained that their conversations got ruined by
technology and their arguments always ended quickly because of the
Internet. People in this class were genuinely upset that their
conversations and interactions with other people had been ruined
this way.

Then, the teacher of this class arrived and started her presentation
on the last 300 years of conversation. After this they were presented
with a task of describing their conversations with family, friends and
colleagues. Their answers weren’t that positive which was exactly
their reason for being there. After the 10 minute break that followed,
Haynes, the teacher continued her lecture on conversation. She said
that conversation shouldn’t be a means to and end and gave some
advice. After this, the group of students had to practice conversation.
In groups they would try out challenging openers of conversations.
After they finished with the practice exercise Haynes finished her
presentation and the students went home. After the class ended, the
conversations seemed to diminish.
