Partners Project Background The West Broadway Sustainable Business Program is an initiative launched by the West Broadway Coalition and funded by a planning grant from Mississippi Watershed Management Organization. The purpose of the project is to spread awareness among property owners the range of grants, programs, and organizations that can provide assistance to participants interested in incorporating stormwater management practices on their property. All businesses and property owners as well as institutional representatives along the corridor are eligible to participate, but space is limited. The West Broadway Coalition is partnering with Metro Blooms to host an educational workshop and to provide free onsite consultation and conceptual design services to organizations along West Broadway interested in reducing their environmental impact and making property improvements. How Does the Program Work?


1. Contact the West Broadway Coalition Call Erin Jerabek to discuss program details, and to describe property improvements that you might be considering. We will check if you are within the project area (all participants must be within the MWMO Watershed Boundary) and to schedule an onsite consultation. 2.Site Visit w/ Metro Blooms Designer A Metro Blooms designer will visit your property to help identify locations where it may be possible to intercept stormwater, how that could be integrated into a landscape design plan or property improvements, and possible funding sources. 3. Participate in Educational Workshop The West Broadway Coalition will be hosting a lunch/educational workshop on Tuesday Sept 6th, from 12pm - 2pm. The workshop will include educational presentations from experts on stormwater management, site design, redevelopment, and grant funding. Participants will be able to network and discuss potential projects with experts. 4. Conceptual Stormwater Plan Metro Blooms will prepare a conceptual stormwater management plan that can be used to develop more detailed design and engineering proposals or to apply for grant funding. 5. Grant Application assistance Depending on the project, there may be additional assistance available in assembling grant applications, pro formas for development proposals or other professional services available.
